Random Cop Stories
So I was driving to school today and I was borderline late. I got stuck at a very long light. Needless to say I was a bit peeved and I took off when the light finally changed. I quickly got up to about 85 (the speed limit is 45) I crested a hill with out even thinking and saw a cop sitting on the median and immediatly downshifted into fourth and began to slow down. The cop flashed his lights for about a second before turning them off. When I passed his he had a coffee in his hand. My guess is he was eating breakfast and just got lazy.
Just wondering if anybody else has any lucky/funny cop stories to tell.

Was driving a white suv, doing 90 on a 35 straight away, i was extremely late taking my gf home, and her parents were getting mad, blew past a cop with his lights off, was going so fast, as i took a right to get on the next street, didn't even see the cop in my rear view mirror, there was about a 1/4 of road avalable for me to see, but i missed my girlfriends street cause i was going too fast, so as i backed up and took a right to get on her street, the cop saw my tail lights and i was busted!!! lol luckily the officer was a very nice person, gave me a ticket for only doing 10 over, and i ended up with 12 hours of community service, because i was only 17 when this happend i only had a provisional license. Oh almost forgot to mention, a month later, a passed a green dodger charger on the highway at 110 in my truck, was in a hurry to get to my sisters house, turns outs about 2 miles later, that dodge charger was an undercover officer pulling me overr ahhh those were the good ol days

I don't have anything THAT crazy, but I honestly HAVE been followed by cops while being perfectly lawful at least once a month. My first Bimmer, so I don't know if it's normal. One time a cop car tailed my ass from the highway, down several side streets, all the way until I pulled into a dead end street. Had (and still dont have) any front plate, but they were behind me the whole time and they wouldn't know, and I was no more than 4 mph over at any point during the drive. Think they were just checking the car out haha.
Also, for future reference, guys don't post speeds or else this threat will technically qualify as part of the posts banned by the "no kill stories" rule.

I had an incident last month with the law. I pulled out of my office parking lot; there was a cop in his car across the street at the mini mart. His eyes followed my car and then he pulled out and got on my tail really close. He followed me and when I got on the freeway the ramp was clear so I accelerated up to the speed limit of 75 mph. No wheel spin or anything like that. The lights on his car came on so I pulled over. He came up to my car and said I was going to fast on the on ramp. I ask him what the ramp speed limit was and he then told me I accelerated to fast. I then ask what the law was on the rate acceleration rate on freeway on ramps. He then said look, it is up to my discretion to give you a ticket for aggressive driving. We had quite a conversation where he tried to scare me by BS. Every time I told him I did nothing wrong and if I did please educate/give me a ticket so I can understand what law I broke. He finally had no more to say and I went on my way. A coworker was behind the cop and saw the whole incident. Next morning I pull in the office and who is across the street, the cop that pulled me over. My co worker wanted to go talk to the cop so we went over to talk to him. When my co worker told him he witnessed the whole incident the cop told us he did not want to talk about it and closed his window on us. I just don’t understand why the cop wanted to pick on me.

I had a cop come up on me probably doing a 100 to catch me doing the legal limit of 45mph. This was around midnight, I had insomnia and just wanted to go out for a drive. He totally tailgated me for about two miles until we got to the center of my small beach town. I turned down a side street for no other reason than to turn around. Parked at the beach near the town pier, to just hang for a few minutes and have a cigarette. I see that he recrossed the bridge, and was heading my way to harass me. He must have got a call, pulled a u-turn, and went away again, as another cruiser blasted past me doing a 100 in a 30mph zone.....Since where I live is pretty crime free, they don't have anyone to arrest. Last time I was at the pier, had a cop pull up to me as I'm sitting on the bench. I could pass for a twenty year old in the dark, and I guess he was going to harass me, thinking I was 20, instead of 45. He was treating me as if I was some homeless transient..Idiot, I don't know of too many transients driving a $40,000 Bimmer...And the funny thing is, you could break down in town and not see a cop all night....Like one of my ex-girlfriends used to say, "Big Badge,Little Brain"............

The cop wanted to pick on you for the same exact reason that nice cars get key'd. Jealousy. Its ugly. I have never understood it, but unfortunately even spending most of my life doing things for others, including volunteering for many non-profits... i still have to deal with others thinking that I am looking down on them for not having what I have. I don't care, just do me the same respect. That I afford you. People need to grow up.

happened to me yesterday going 50 on a 35 road. cop was going in the opposite direction slowly because i guess he was scanning and I thought to myself, no time to slow down to speed limit and that this was it for me I was going to get pulled over. surprisingly though as I passed him I caught him by surprise, he went to do a u-turn to tail me but was caught by a light that I had just passed. I speed off and was safe!!

It's only going to get worse. Due to budget shortfalls in local govts, and due to the police unions wanting more money, it is now being publicly announced that cops will be giving tickets for anything and upping the frequency. They want money, and they will take it from us.
Down here in South Florida, we do have "some" control over the crazy cops, but with this economy, it is starting to erode. To all fellow 1Addicts, BE CAREFUL!! It is TicketTime, with the donut-sucking power-hungry cash-greedy cops. As for stories, WAAAAAAAY too many to tell. Oh and for FL people, "Traffic Ticket Center" is the best. Do NOT use "The Ticket Clinic", as they have been reported to the BBB for bad practices, MANY horror stories. Traffic Ticket Center is great, they got me out of a completely bogus $1000 ticket. AWESOME!!

8-10 years ago in an '85 Celica, I was going into Winston-Salem, NC on I-40 around 2am with zero traffic. Before getting into the city, I was running ~140mph and slowed down significantly by the time I was in the city limits. I come around a bend in the interstate and there's a full roadblock for all lanes. I think nothing of it at this point because I'm not really speeding and assume it's just a license check. As I pull up, about 4 cop cars pull all around be and block me in completely. It turns out I was being tracked by satellite and they had multiple sat. photos when the court date came. The judge reduced it to a fine with no moving violation because the technology was not yet proven. Heck, I've always been paranoid or traffic cameras and planes but that was the last thing I would've guessed. I've never heard any other stories in the media or otherwise about this, so I'm guessing the Police department there happened to have some time with a satellite or something, but you know they can't afford a dedicated satellite or anything. Like they say, it's not paranoia if they're really out to get you.

I am happy there are cops out to harass people that are going 140mph on a public highway.
This is the DUMBEST PHUCKING THREAD!!!!!!!! How about we all share our DUI stories too? This thread is an perfect example of a lack of personal responsibility.

if you haven't noticed, all of these stories (including mine) have started with "this happened X amount of years ago" or "this happened in high school..." - i'm sure we've learned our lessons. you've never gotten together with a few buddies and talked about crazy stories that have happened in your life?

I completely agree, there is no way I'd do that anywhere but on a track now. Yeah, a lot of lessons have been learned through the years and as with most people, maturity comes with time. Usually if you have a cop story, there's a certain amount of immaturity involved whether is was you personally or the cop in question.

I got a ticket just this morning on the way to work for checking my voicemail while i was waiting at the red light. I don't drive and talk but i was on the way to work and was checking voicemail. When i saw the cop pull up i acknowledged him and put the phone down. He didn't care and proceded to pull me over after the light turned green. I felt like saying to him, i guess your hard up for tickets cause less people are driving to work...thanks for this bs ticket. But i ended up just saying: I was not driving while talking I just checked my voicemail while stopped at the light but whatever..

This thread sounds to me like glorifying really bad decisions, whilst criticizing the folks whose job it is to keep the public safe.
