former M3 owner prospective 530i owner

Hey guys,

I just sold my 05 M3 since i am in need of a 4-door. At this point i have narrowed the list to a 2006 Acura TL and 2004+ BMW 530i.

for my price range the Acura would have ~50k miles while the BMW would have ~70k miles.

Since i have had a BMW and my wife has an X5, i am aware of the small issues that come up such as window regulators and coil packs and i have experience replacing these items.

My question for the 530i guys is really, asides from these small things what should i really be aware of? With the M3 you had to worry about VANOS failures and Subframe cracks...which i consider serious flaws BMW should have covered. Does the 530i have anything like this that are glaring issues?

Also, in terms of maintenence does this car require a valve adjusment every 50k miles? Trailing Arm Bushings?

If you could note the mileage of your vehicle in your response that would be very helpful.

thanks guys
