I was thinking of this post while watching and waiting for the first commercial break. You are correct! I'm with Rick wishing I waited a little longer to start watching. I didn't realize they are only up to 2nd episode.

It's legit. Check it asap. Reruns of the first two episodes are still running randomly on fx.

I had to call it quits on The Old Man about 1.5 episodes in. The first episode was a good one and hooked me but I lost interest soon after.

How far into episode two did you get? I started to get bored but then, bang. I just got sucked back in. Did you get past them going to dinner?

Gave up on Kenobi a couple of episodes in. Moved on to Stranger Things S4.

I might also be watching One Piece on the side (if I were to be watching anime....you know... hypothetically...maybe).

Doesn't that have like 10,000 episodes? You could never finish it.

It certainly has a lot. It helps that I made it through what was on Netflix a while ago. I re-discovered it on Hulu a couple of months ago. Thankfully the episodes are short and I also put it on in the background while doing other things. I think I saw on Reddit that One Piece is ending this year so at least it has become finite.

I saw when they were at dinner but not sure I can recall what happened next as I was in and out multi-tasking. I expect a lot from shows on FX and this one didn't do it for me. I have limited time on my hands so I will cut bait quickly and move on if a show doesn't speak to me pretty quickly.

The episode when he goes undercover into the bayou swamp biker gang. Gets coked up like a beast. Goes on a robbery and does some crazy ass shit. Calls your boy woodie to pick him up down the block before he gets shot up by 20 gang members. That was so sickkkkkk

Finished up Stranger things season 4 last night. Gotta say season 4 was okay. But, not as good as seasons 1-2. Looking forward to volume 2 and season 5.

Imho, I dunno why they have so many seasons of Stranger Things. They try their best but it's really suitable for a short series...how much can they keep repeating the same/similar things over and over?

I know what you're saying, I feel the same but they are really just doing the same thing over and over. The novelty's gone after S1.

I used to love Malcolm Douglas as a kid, loved the whole Fronteir aspect before travel became a commodity.

In saying that, FMD when did it last rain in that video? 1931? Dry as a nun's nether regions jesus.

I enjoyed "Obi-Wan" overall. I started "Star Trek" yesterday. It's a decent time filler.

Thursday night sci-fi night!
Spoiler alert, spoiler alert!!!

Obi-Wan: they needed better writers. The finale was OK, and I really liked the light saber fight. But so many shows have such a good writing, Game of Thrones, better call Saul, Stranger Things, etc., etc. The writing on the show was really lackluster. Lots of plot holes. But it was good to see Obi wan get his mojo back.

Orville: One of the better episodes, but heavy on the modern day politics. Lots of big laughs, but still kind of Star Trekish. Season one was the best season, but this last episode was pretty good.

Star Trek, strange New Worlds: by far the best of the Bunch, great writing , even better special effects and CGI. Not at this episode relied on special effects or CGI at all. The guy who plays captain pike has very similar mannerisms to John Hamm, in all the good ways. I think this is the best Star Trek series of all time, including the original.

The one thing that has been bothering me the last few years is the tendency for these shows to seemingly go through an inclusionary checklist. Every show has a gay/trans/non-binary/etc. character and/or touches on something political. Sometimes I just want to watch a show and be entertained without all of the rhetoric and forced consumption. You can't even watch Voltron the animated series without some of that stuff being thrown in. It's not personal, but sometimes movies and shows are used to escape the day-to-day nonsense and these writers/producers make it damn near impossible to avoid.
