That question hasn't got an answer yet.

That's because people weren't able to determine the root cause of the FI failure.

There is suspect of deposit buildup in the injector, yes. But a good cleanup once in a while would avoid that, right? But it doesn't. People had stuck injectors that were periodically cleaned.

There is also the suspect that the culprit is the strainer at the pump suction, that degrades and let the element go through the pump and reach the injector. The solution would be replacing the fuel pump set.

But all of that would be avoided with an inline 10-micron filter.

My injectors have been running for 5 years now, only 15,000 miles although.

Only using top tier gas.

I don't expect to replace them soon, although if they were cheaper I'd centainly do because it's not clear what causes the failure.

I bought mine single owner at 18k miles. I only use top tier, Shell primarily, I'm hoping he did the same. Adding a filter would be a good idea with FI replacement while also considering doing the fuel pump at the same time

Steel wool #0000 is pretty non aggressive and can cut out some oxidation. I then used mother's mag and wheel polish on it too.

There's still some baked on carbon that I might try some acetone on to see if that will dissolve it. Good luck!

Just chilling in the paddock waiting for the first laps of the season. 45F with half inch of rain overnight, should be interesting.

Update: pretty amazing day. Rain held off but threatened at times. Track was dry by 11 and we had pockets of sun and got to 63. This was the hooked on driving group. I ran in solo novice as it was my first time with them. They started the day with an autocross course and had us work on braking just below the ABS trigger and also intentionally breaking the rear end free to arrest the slide. It was a great way to break the ice and brought back those skid pad skills from November.

This was my first run since adding coilovers, front monoball control arms and aero on the trunk lid. All of it made a difference but I need to get in for an alignment after discovering that the shop left the front toe at neutral. Last run the rest of my group went home and I ran the laps with coaches and staff, mostly in 991 911s of various forms. I actually didn’t do too bad keeping up relatively well and ended the day with a grin. Good start to the season 👍😎.

It's eventuri. The intake is excellent I bought it from eas I believe send them a DM got a good deal on it. It opens up the throttle response nicely and definitely the induction noise is a plus. If noise is what you're truly after then I think the plenum is what you're after. Performance was first priority for me that's why I did intake first

Okay thx mate. Today I managed to find a used Karbonius kit so I opted for that brand. I feel Eve is super expensive 🤩 and can’t find a used set here.

Finished up the G1 install yesterday and got her all put back together. Took her out for a test drive and got a wash today. I thought this beast had "get up and go" before, holy ****, now it wants to rip my face off. 🤣

Thanks a lot.

They are 9,5x19 ET22 & 10,5x19 ET25 wrapped in 265-285/30/19 tires. No spacers.

Rears stretched a bit but Michelin PS4S don’t come in 295/30 and 305 would be too wide.

May add 5mm spacers in the rears but still on the fence. I’ll adjust the lowering springs before final call.

Nice I bought a slightly used set they're 9/10 with 30/40 offset. How low are you compared to stock zcp settings?

Picked up my M3 from Mporium in Mckinney, TX with beautiful new valve covers and shiny VANOS covers made in-house. I went with Gunmetal Grey Metallic for the valve cover color. Also came home with new spark plugs and no more whistling plenum.

Thank you so much deansbimmer

deansbimmer attention to detail comes through in his posts and approach to work on the S65. But look at the level of precaution in that engine bay! Those appear to be custom made silicone cups to protect each throttle body from foreign material. You guys with cars in his region are very blessed. 👍😎

I completely agree. It’s a 4 hour drive for me, but absolutely worth it.
