Absinthe LEGAL in US again!!

As of yesterday, Absinthe is once again legal in the United States. It was banned in 1915.

it's not the real thing though. that's banned pretty much everywhere. the current version is basically a very, very strong liquor (70%).

Maybe in Cali, but its been legal here in NY since about March.

Lots of controversy over this one on the market now, tho it does contain a small amount of wormwood, its still not the same Absinthe you can obtain from over sea's.

I have had it, and tho different then my favorites that are only available in Europe, its a good substitute for now. I will make sure to pick up a few more bottles this time when in Europe, all the buzz about this now, i see there is money to be made.

the original green fairy version from Eurotrip had something called Wormwood oil (correct me if I'm wrong.. been a while since I read the wiki on it) and no one has made that in ages I believe.. so u can't find it even if u tried
the other is just a really strong alcohol as mentioned above...

I've heard people say they still hallucinate drinking the current stuff, but then again that could just be wishful thinking on their part... Either way, I won't be drinking any. Uncle Sam wouldn't approve if my random piss tests showed opiate use. =(

They're just using the name "absinthe" to sell liquor. If it was real, then the pot heads would probably come and sue to get marijuana legalized which would be stupid as well. You can get the real thing in europe.

You can still find absinthe in the eastern european countries. Not hard if you really want it. Due to drug testing, I never attempted to find some. Not worth the risk.

My friends sister lives in Italy and brought him some. Probably not the real deal. But he said he had never drank anything like it. Said he was f'ed up really quickly, and didn't feel right the next day or two.
