I know, right??? Shocking!!!

There was other funny stuff, like IRC, if I had an inny or outie belly button.
I'll have to look up the funny stuff later.

Btw, it also narrows down what part of the world you're from. That was a big reason I wanted to do it. Just in case I was adopted haha.

I did my research. It's all very scientific. This will be the future and one day you'll think, aaaahh, that bimmette was a pioneer

I'm on the fence. After getting type 2 diabetes at 33 years old I'm curious knowing what else can possibly be in store for me. (Am I going to lose my John Stamos like hair?) Or is ignorance bliss? Take each day as it comes?

Has anyone done this? How do you feel about giving your DNA to a company to analyze?
Sure if the results of the tests are reliable enough. Why not know? The point of living is to make the most one can with the time and abilities one has. Knowing how that time most likely will play out is a good thing that allows one to plan accordingly.

All the best.

How do I prove you wrong? It'll be too late! You'll be dead! Or maybe you'll post one day that you're addicted to heroin and I say, see, told you so! Should've taken a test! Hahaha.

Somebody gave my dad one of the NatGeo tests to point to his heritage, etc. He showed us, but I don't think he ever gave them a cheek swab.

I gave a cheek swab when I became apart of the OneMatch bone marrow registry, wish they would have provided me with the information then. I think it would be a cool initiative to get more people to volunteer.

Well...not specifically related to your opiate addiction, but more in reference to your comment "one day you'll think, aaaahh, that bimmette was a pioneer."

The videos and interviews are interesting, but not "pioneering."

So what I'm saying is that I'm looking forward to the day when you come up with something new and novel. Keep up the ideas! It's a good thing

If you do genetic testing and you find that you are genetically more inherent for an illness, good luck getting any type of insurance.

So know you know you might have cancer, but you can't do anything about it.

As far as I know, no life insurance company requires genetic testing as part of their prescreen to obtain insurance. So the genetic testing is just between you and the company doing the genetic testing. I'm not a lawyer but I would also think an individual is protected against a pre-disposition discrimination by any company. Just because you might get cancer doesn't mean you will.

This is different than my situation where I had cancer and will have to wait the 5 years after diagnosis to be able to obtain regular life insurance. The 5 years has been set by the medical community where if a cancer patient reaches this milestone with no signs of cancer the risk of this patient getting cancer again is statistically the same as the general population.

Insurance companies are not allowed to ask for genetic testing, and I certainly hope that it stays that way.

Any information that you withhold from your insurance application could find the policy denied for the potential claim that you thought you were covered for. If you let them know, you will get most likely get coverage but it will affect your premiums because their liability has increased.

I certainly hope that you stay cancer free. my friend!

This is one of the social issues that I wish I could know; but I don't want the information used against me in any way.

No way. I don't want to know nothing (double negative implied purposely). I live everyday as if it were my last.
