+1 on the Weihenstephaner... I like just about every Hef out there and Hefs tend to be my usual, but the earthy flavor REALLY sets it apart, and that's my all-time fave.
Then for the rare times I do ale, Arrogant Bastard, Fat Tire or Ballistic's Gorgon Red Ale. When I can find it: Warsteiner, Bitburger, or Krombacher. Off the common shelf (AKA when all else fails; in the exact order below): Urquell, Stella, Heineken (my first ever taste of beer), Hoegaarden, Sapporo, Asahi, Becks (though I know it's American market stuff), Modelo Especial, XX Amber, Pacifico, MGD (for some reason), Shock Top, Mickey's, my own piss and vanilla extract, dog piss and rubbing alcohol, Budweiser, [insert s**t you get when you're broke and just want something, e.g. Natural Ice] [insert any light beer here].

If you can manage to pick them before they fall then you could make a tincture with some vodka and put a dab in some beer to flavor. I'm not a fan of fruit flavored beers though... Wine and mead take much longer to ferment/age. Beer is a bit quicker and easier to make. You can have a good beer ready to drink in a few weeks.

IPA: Cigar City Jai Alai Stout: Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro Brown Ale: Bold City Dukes Cold Nose If you are a Jacksonville FL local, hit up Engine 15 brewing, amazing stuff, I have yet to have a bad beer there |
