Highly recommended even though some people might say it's touristy. My ex-gf works for Delta, so we flew in to Switzerland from ATL, then rented a car and drove there. The scenery is amazing, restaurants everywhere too.
We stayed in an apartment (Airbnb) that was right on the water, so we had the view of the lake from bed. Roads are very narrow though, so pick rental car carefully

Was getting all my solar protection ready so we could go visit the island NEXT to Epstein's.
No, he hadn't killed himself, YET. |

Looks like a few of us were Italy at the same time.
A year ago I was driving from Rome to Naples, marveling at how Italians have zero fucking tolerance for slow left lane campers, and wishing that I rented a faster car than a Fiat 500 (cinquecento!) |

Stoped in bologna for you guessed it a boloney sandwich 🥪 great holiday for sure, all the meals, the history and breathtaking views The damn rest stops we're awesome, coffee bar and sinks in the stall?!? why can't we have that? We're stuck with Sbarrow and McDonald's on I-95 Yes, I like if all drivers are on the same page, aggressive is fine if all is doing it, in the states we got Karen's cruising 60 mph never intending to pass traffic causing left lane bottlenecks Edit, I quit smoking 09-2019 Rented Passat wagon, was fine |

Wife and I just packed up our life and moved to a different state to start a different career in an unknown industry where we know no one. Look at me now, ma!

A year ago today we were with our boat club at a weekend run we do. Our group got dressed up in 80's attire to go out to one of the clubs in the casino.
2 days later we left for South Africa so I will share some pics from our 2 weeks there. Last year was a big travel year for us and it's one thing I miss the absolute most. |

Wow niice! Croatia and Slovenia were the other option of two countries I was going to visit last November. Heard it’s cold and lots of places are closed at that time so I did Morocco and Portugal instead. Ended up having a great time but been longing to visit Croatia and Slovenia. I saw pictures of Slovenia and was just in awe.

I just officially cancelled our flight for refund last night (flight out was next Tuesday). We were staying in Yorkshire, doing several day trips to York, and were going to take the 1.5hr train ride up to Edinburgh, Scotland for a couple nights.
Still super bummed, but we're hoping to do this trip next year instead.

If we go back 1.25 years ago, my wife and I took the trip of a lifetime: 2 weeks in Thailand. Totally worth the 24 hr flights one-way and we'd love to go back.
We flew to Bangkok, then up to Chiang Mai, then down to Phuket, Phi Phi Islands, Krabi, and Koh Samui

Awesome pics! This is the trip I wanted to do this year, but we all know why. Your itinerary is pretty close to what we were looking to do. We were in Japan for around 3 weeks Oct/Nov of last year. I really wanted to leave half way & go over to Thailand but the flights didn't work out. |

That's cool your parents lived there! From some people's perception, they thought we were crazy for going because it's so dangerous. Only once did we get a little worried when we were visiting Soweto. We actually went on a mission trip so worked in the squatter camps and with baby rescue. We were able to see the vast difference in income. The people who lived in the squatter camps were so friendly and welcoming. It really made you stop to appreciate what you have. The mission trip that we were with did an great job of showing us all different areas so we got to have some cool experiences as well. I definitely want to go back. It's such a cool country with so much variation. |

Japan is definitely one of the next trips within 5 years! So much to explore over there, and the JDM/rice burner scene is where my roots start, so I have to go for that alone. My wife isn't fully ready for me to blab about cars the entire trip lol
