Everything these days has big crap scrawled on the side of it. Aesthetically, SA's is at least aggressive. Gold Cups have an essay engraved on the side of them. Les Baer's and Kimber's have big calligraphy writing on them. Dan Wesson's are about the only ones that don't and I don't have that kinda 1911 money.

I'm not usually either, but something about this finish with the black did it for me. If I could've the nightmare in 9mm, I would have. This has a similar two tone to that, which is one reason I was attracted to it. But forget all that, this thing shoots amazing.

My favorite gun for some time is my S&W Magnum 500. Gets a lot of attention.

2nd favorite, Wilson Combat bi-tone 1911. Such a smooth weapon!

Thought I'd share my trusty 1911. First firearm I ever fired. Tight groups at 25 yds. We've been through a lot together. Bit of a Frankenstein now: Barstow Barrel, Bo-Mar sights, Rogers grip, stock safety, extended slide release, extended guide rod, I don't even remember what hammer that is, duckbill... tigger work of course. Accurate too, I shot better with this than my Gold Cup.

Fired about 100 rounds a few weeks ago for the first time in 8 or 9 years. 25 yards, single handed, range loads, 10 shots, 30 seconds. Not too shabby for no practice in almost a decade. Looks like it's shooting high. I think I had it sighted for round targets last I shot it.

I might mention I had earned a Master Classification at one point in my life.

Speaking of 1911s, I heard a good joke today. A Glock and a 1911 walk into a bar. The 1911 looks at the Glock and says "Hey you foreign prick! I challenge you to a drinking contest!" the Glock replies "Ok ya old bastard, I bet you wont make it past 8 rounds!"

Okay cool have a set of pros also on a bcm but only used them initially to sight in, that gun is scoped.

I didn't want to either but wanted to get into competition shooting so I bought a match grade Wilson Combat and it is by far the best gun I own right now. I almost feel like it should have been my very first gun!!!
