RB can’t keep up because they don’t have the talent (technical talent and/or driving talent) to develop a package to challenge the Merc.

Actually there is a lot stopping me from becoming president of Canada, first we don’t have one, we have a Prime Minister, and second I’d have to take a massive pay cut.

His performance and pace were really remarkable ! Actually unseen !

Whats more of a miracle is that if the tub had stuck in just far enough to block the top, he would not have been able to extricate himself, leaving him inside the inferno until somehow the tub would have been pulled out, SERIOUSLY lucky that the tub ended up where it did.

Poor Verstappen the great rainmeister having to struggle in such a slow car.

To be fair, when he does have a several seconds a lap car advantage over the rest of the field as at Istanbul and its a wet track he really shows his true abilities!

Pleased to see Romain is fine...comes across as a super nice bloke...I don't think he ever really got to realise his full potential, but thats motor racing.
According to Autosport...Pietro Fittipaldi will make his Formula 1 debut this weekend at the Sakhir Grand Prix in place of Romain.

I don’t want to sound sentimental but respect is due to all F1 drivers for their bravery. They put their lives on the line for our entertainment. Their bravery really showed after they all saw what Romain went through and still got in their cars and went full beans to finish the race. Romain could’ve joined the list of decapitated drivers like Koinigg and Birstow and we still sit on our couches and moan about the ugly halo. Leclerc is still a cunt though 🤣

I doubt Sainz will get any less of the 'kick in the teeth' treatment Lec is dishing out with a smile to Seb.Had to get out the way quick as Lec was barging through.. Seb said on radio 'ok, the car is undriveable'.
Binotto won't be present at any GP's now unless there's a catastrophe.

But understandable at that moment in front of hell's fire .


2- The telemetry showed the impact was 50+ G !
Romain's speed was 221 km/h during the puncturing of the barrier.
The HALO and cockpit (monocoque survival cell) "SEEM" to be intact .
But both are cracked ..

So Romain survived the 1.) 50G crash, 2.) the main (full up with fuel) tank explosion two or three inches behind him and 3.) the fall out of the remaining burning fuel hoisting himself up and out with any remaining strength he could muster.

What he meant is that the gases in the fire extinguishers pushed the air around the fire into the fire itself because they were sprayed from a distance. If you watch it and notice the fire marshal who was on the service road spraying towards the track side he was at least 30 feet away and the contents of the extinguisher didn’t reach the fire and only pushed more air into it.
