Guys and girls both. Meet people in real life. Not necessarily social settings in fact (social settings can actually sometimes put more pressure on meeting someone than not typical social settings), just anywhere. Elevators, local starbucks, chipotle line, gym, etc. once you have some in-person practice down, you'll never go on social dating apps again...

Usually let the girl come to you, i'm quiet in real life, last time i was at a club, standing at the bar watching my buddies on the dance floor, this chick apparently was talking to me i didn't notice at first. She slapped me on the shoulder and said i'm talking to you asshole, I started laughing then she started telling me how her friends were bitches and were jealous of her because she dresses real sexy. Lol
I did take her home, i miss those days!

of course I visited her. We communicated almost every day and traveled long distance for a while to visit each other. Then she ended up moving to be with me. We live together now

Recently went on a date with a girl I met on one of the more serious dating apps. On paper she was perfect...same profession, race, religion, hobbies. We had a great time and talked non-stop.

However, I never got a text back after the one I sent 24 hrs after

Pharmacist and Finance person were both very self absorbed, surgeon was very awkward!

Gonna give up apps for a while I think... dunno if it's a nyc thing, apps thing, or what... but seems like being self absorbed is a common trait ?

I think this is a major problem with social media. People are constantly concerned with how "amazing" everyone thinks they are and pretty soon they become extremely self absorbed.

I noticed on a lot of profiles they come off as pretty abrasive in the "about me" section, thinking they are the best thing since sliced bread. News flash: if you sound like a bitch in your profile, it probably isn't going to make people want to contact you, even if you aren't one in real life. The height and body type requirements are also hilarious considering most of the girls who require that are overweight and have no job.


I also love the people who say "write something besides "Hey What's up?" or i'll just delete it" while they write no info about them so there is nothing you can even bring up as an ice breaker.

I feel like social media and constant phone use has destroyed people's ability to communicate like human beings. Talk to someone casually in a grocery store line, and you can watch them freeze and not know what to do.

I've noticed that on Tinder, probably 95%+ of girls (hot or not) really have nothing going for them in life. Why would a well-educated dude who is a good overall package subject himself to those types of chicks? I suggest you guys try some other apps with higher quality girls.

We have a friend who is wicked smart, she has a PhD and is just a terrific woman, mid 50's and attractive. She recently broke up with her partner who was good friends of mine....I love the guy but he seriously shit the bed. Anyway, my friend is dipping into the on line dating thing....we get together for a glass of wine and have to laugh, it's a bit sad but god dammed funny.
