The placement of the front sensor clustered on the VJM05 looks like it's wearing a horse-bit in it's mouth.

Even they said the livery scheme will be different, but seems very minor compare to previous season.

SO so far Vodaphone McLaren is the ONLY car without a stepped nose! Definately the best looking so far also. Could they have gotten it so spot on right or so wrong? Feburary will tell! I am hoping dead spot on!

We might see a complete different car in Melbourne, probably with step-nose too. Launch activities is primarily for media and their sponsors to look where are their corporate logo will be on the car.

but the car itself is still in evolution, even dummy exhaust and flat covered diffusor is not shown to competition 2 months ahead so they can catch up.

At least they are taking advantage of the step.

Some guesses, It may be the intake to cool the KERS batteries, if they did some MAJOR repackaging of their unit. They still had a decent amount of trouble with it last year, and that step gives them an excuse to put an intake there. Or it could just be a little spoiler. There isn't usually a whole lot of room to work in the nose of the car though with all the suspension and fluid housing there.

Also, I'm starting to see a trend with the sharpness of the noses on these cars.

I foresee a great number of punctured side-pod radiators.
