I restored that myself during the first lockdown. Then I got an e46 318ci from a mechanic neighbour of mine. For Christmas this year I treated myself to a 1995 840ci and after 3 months driving that as a daily driver I decided to get an electric to keep petrol costs down to a sane level, so I got the 2015 i3.

I am passing on the e46 to a friend of mine as a gift, I am just waiting for him to take it away. I never plan on selling any of the other 4. I find it a nice mix of 4,6,8 cylinders and the i3 is a super car I want to see how many miles I can get on that before it dies completely.

My favourite out of the lot is the e92 the steering feel and handling are sublime and the engine is just so smooth. To me it is the perfect balance of luxury and sportiness and to my eye one of the most beautiful cars made by any brand. Some random pics of the lot…
That's a great experience that you're having with BMW's! Really cool. I personally love the 840ci! It just stands out from anything! I would love to see what comes in the future. A V10? Probably not right! And curious about your classification as super car for the i3. Why you say it that way.

Here is my collection:
(In order of appearence in my garage, 1st BMW bought in 1988)
Past:
1986 323i Coupé,Manual
1990 325iM Coupe,Manual
1987 325i Cab,Manual
1989 325iM 4door,Manual
1989 320i Touring,Manual
1990 M5 E34,Manual
1988 M3 E30,Manual
1995 M3 E36 (S50b30 286hp Euro),Manual
1998 528ia Touring,Auto
1999 530iaM Touring,Auto
2000 530iaM Touring,Auto
2002 530iaM Touring,Auto
2017 M2,DCT

Current:
2002 325ti Compact (M54b30, 250hp),Manual,trackday car
1997 Z3 M Roadster (S50b32 Euro),Manual
1998 Z3 1.9i Sports,Manual

Loved the M2, got it new, lots of mods. Fantastic car, exceptional performance. But eventually I longed for a real analog car again. Z3 M Roadster is just such fun and pleasure. Manual 5MT, real feedback in the steering, no ACS/DCS and with open roof you are just one with the elements.
Previously I had BMW as daily drivers, but now I drive Mercedes. For transportation I just think it is an overall better option.

Thank you very much for the detailed information! That's (so far) a lovely BMW timeline! By any chance to see some pictures of the cars? The E30 M3 for example ... F87 ... and the Z3M?

87' 325i , 06 330i

My first BMW was an 87' 325i. Tiny little convertible, but I loved it. Person I bought it from tried to "fix" and upgrade the modules and definitely screwed up so much wiring. Shorted out for days lol until I found a shop in Nevada that would fix it and not charge me BMW prices. 😅 Definitely miss that car, sad I wrecked it.
My fiance and I have a 06 330i, E90 now and I like it I do, but I miss the look of an older model. Not to mention seems like every month we are putting money into it to fix something. Not including all the upgrades my man slides in, without telling me 😅. I find myself getting frustrated with the car and would rather drive our Truck. I mean the car is capable of so much and If something isn't equipped it's wired already for easy mods, that's for sure. I'm definitely pushing to sell it. - If I can't access the upgrades or enjoy in it's features I don't wanna play with it anymore. 🤷 Maybe I will start looking for another older model. 😉

But fortunately I recently met the current lucky M3 e30 owner. After 27 years it actually had the same Alpina wheels!
