I'm leading a team of credit underwriters for a company that just made adjusted earnings of $8.8 billion, an 8% increase over last year and still paying me under what is control for my signing limits and despite being a high performer year over year.

Friday I'm asking for a substantial increase in base pay or they can fuck right off.

Rightfully so. Credit due where credit is deserved, if they don't want it, someone else gladly will.

Apparently the vendor misunderstood we wanted a live demo rather than a a discussion overview....does not look good for this vendor....

Without going into specifics, I'll just say my team and I had a record year compared to last year's record year. Approval rate >60% despite us being very tight lenders. Lowest delinquency rates amongst all Credit Centre Operations.

Usually the fear ends up circumventing when you find out your new position is pretty chill and much better than the shithole you left it for, even though you were originally worried.

I agree!

I also know that some say that the grass is always greener on the other side because it's fertilized by bullshit, but there is poor work life balance, no reward or recognition and my senior leadership team sees me as the fixer. Take shit teams and make them top performers. Only thing is my bonus is great, but base is horrible for the hours and work I put in.

Take charge man. Clearly you know what you're worth and the company doesn't, so use that as a means to start expanding.

I went from working 70 hour weeks with okay pay, to working 40 hours a week with great pay and assholes for corporate. The grass is greener, but there's always going to be a few dead patches. It's which dead patches you don't mind taking a poo on while you enjoy the rest of your fruitful yard.
