That's such a self fulfilling prophecy if true. They can't expect the car to be a sales hit if they are being completely tone deaf to what Toyota fans wanted with a chief engineer who, although delivered a good car, forces his Porsche fetishes on Supra enthusiasts.

I believe sales are going to drop dramatically in the coming years unless big changes come out of these incremental updates. The problem is there is no where for this car to go unless Toyota has something up their sleeves. More power isn't much of an option (unless the car gets the S58 which is very unlikely), manual isn't an option with the B58tu, widebody isn't going to happen without breaking a key development principle of 1.55 track width to wheelbase ratio, and Tetsuya Tada already ruled out a hybrid.

I hope I am wrong but this car will get a facelift and red interior stitching and that's it. Then Toyota will say "well sports car don't sell so the A100 isn't going to be developed." The sad part is that Toyota devoted 10x the development effort (hyperbole) to the Yaris than they did to their flagship.

I don’t think it’s selling well at all otherwise they wouldn’t offer 0% financing. The dealers did an epic job by turning off buyers - first by charging ADMs and by not letting you test drive one.

Good riddance...

$68K MSRP in Canada for the 382 HP Supra?! You can get the M2 (Competition Pack, 405HP) for only $4K more, and the M2 has manual transmission. And the Porsche 718 Cayman is $64K.

Now I know better why I'm seeing no Supras out on the roads here in Toronto. It's overpriced, at least here in Canada.

This is why I find the Supra revival both intriguing and strange, especially where the car is more expensive than it’s competition and way less power (Europe is stuck with 335hp). It only makes sense to revive the Supra name if either they have big plans for it or it’s a straight cash grab.

You’re paying for the Supra name. Stock straight out of the factory, the Supra isn’t worth $58k.

An argument can be made for it being one of the best cars at or below $51k and is a terrific value, but that only works here in the US. But I do agree that they are pushing the badge too hard.

Ive been trying to talk myself into a Supra, specifically because I was trying to think of it as a less expensive option than other vehicles I'm considering.

One good comparison is to my M340i build. When I consider the discount I'd get on the M340, and paying sticker for a Supra, the M340 seems like a better decision for me. The Street price of the BMW isn't that much more.

Honestly the price isn't too bad, it's a touch high and dealers being stupid but the actual price is not too bad. Canadians whinging about the cost difference, it's the same for every car vs the USA, FWIW the Supra is 100K in Australia.

Not to mention our used market is pretty slim pickings (seems worse now). Desirable cars in general go for much more up here, new or used.

In an era where you can buy a CVT equipped Subaru Ascent for $47k USD this car seems reasonably priced especially when compacts like the STI, Golf R are pricing out over $40k.

There are literally hundreds of Supra's being advertised at $5k off MSRP already.

I'll take your word for it. However that's not the case with 2021 models. I would only consider a 2021. I should have been clearer about that.

Well, I don't believe there are even any 2021's for sale yet. They haven't started arriving at the dealerships.

It's just too bad. The dealerships are going to kill this car. If it makes 4 years of production I'll be surprised.

There's a 2021 coming in at a local dealer here in the bay area and I am helping my cousin try and aquire it. We went there last year for a white premium and they wanted $20k adm
Well guess what they also want the same adm for the 2021
That same white 2020 is still there , but now they've kindly offered it at msrp
What a joke
Btw my cousin now has and order in for a 2021 M340i at invoice plus $750 before incentives
People on here are right on the dot , toyota dealers will end up killing this car
Shame

So while my wife was shopping yesterday- I stopped by Toyota dealer next door with 4 Supras in stock collecting dust.

No discount offered and no test drives allowed. 👎👎 They did offer 0% financing.

This is a joke.

AutoTrader shows pretty much every dealer in my area listing 2021s at sticker... in advance of their arrival. Not sure why you'd be so pessimistic about the future of a car that so popular that dealers are marking them up. Do you hold the same pessimism about Porsche GT cars? They're marked up and not exactly readily available for test drives either.

The thing is that they aren’t as popular as dealers are making them out to be as evidence by the massive incentives Toyota is putting on these cars. Toyota USA is trying to move units but certain dealers are treating them like gold by not letting people drive them and not honoring Toyota’s incentives. This is not like P GT cars by any means

My perception is Toyota is pushing the 2020 models because anyone in the know realizes the 2021 models are much more desirable.

Right, but there are many dealers who still won’t let go of their 2020 stock and are still marking them up
