The electrical system in new, which is probably where training is really necessary, but I doubt the system is much different than other current GM models, meaning the C7 Corvette was electrically a generation behind and is now "current" with other GM products and industry electrical system engineering SAE standards. If you think about it, the GM vehicles that really are in need of specialized training to repair are the Volt and Bolt. My thoughts at least.

If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

This is just improper training in general, and not specific to the C8. The lift in question is a Rotary and looks like an asymmetrical SPO-A10, which is the same lift I have. The lift comes with a training manual and a spotting plate for the floor. Cars less than 94 inches in wheelbase locate the front left wheel behind the spotting plate. Between 95" - 104", the wheel is spotted on the plate, and any thing above 105", the wheel is spotted in front of the plate.

Had a C8 come in a few days ago for R&D, She was beautiful but how will she match up against German Engineering? Only one way to find out

Kind of related interesting info:
My friend just sold his new 2020 Stingray for almost $40k over MSRP. I was shocked... Apparently the factory's aren't producing them currently? If your rich and you absolutely have to have one this summer... the price premiums are outrageous! |

Also 2021 msrp is not getting a price bump like some expected. If resellers want to make a quick buck, I would sell now. |

Interesting, thanks for sharing. I had a feeling this would be a very short lived phenomena. Once in a lifetime some would say.

Who knows I could be completely wrong but I thought it was ironic that the first C8 vette I see is being driven by 19 yr olds lol

While I have never been a big Corvette fan, now thinking differently, much of what I appreciated about the Corvette was if you either bought it used or kept it a long time you didn't need a highly trained/specialized mechanic and didn't need to be afraid of "worst case scenario". I buy a C8 and blow the engine, I can deal with it. I buy a Ferrari and blow the engine not even sure where to begin (can a local person rebuild a Ferrari engine or am I shipping the engine somewhere well out of state?). I hope it is always able to be worked on by trained but not exclusive mechanics (if mechanics highly specialized training you will pay for it) and I see no value in them putting up special areas to work on them, this is a guaranteed cost you will pay for but unless the result is better (and it shouldn't be), I don't want to pay for it. I am especially interested in the overhead cam engine, which will add complexity, especially if there is a serious problem out of warranty but I still hope GM keeps things reasonable.

I started my own business 2+ years ago and work a full time job- I could have bought many other vehicles other than the M340 but I'd rather put my $ elsewhere. Thanks for the assumption tho bro!

Well that was boring. I’m waiting for the actual tested lap times by the pros. They’ve been slow in coming due to wuhan virus I’m guessing.
