I know this to be 100% true. The wealthiest man I personally know has filed bankruptcy (twice) and now owns a company (closely held) that generates $100 MILLION net income annually, company has no long term liabilities, and the nature of their revenue stream is scalable. 1% ownership in this company would generate a K-1 distribution of ~ $400,000...I have actually seen his company financial statements...

I also know a guy that is 40 (ish) that made a lucky stock pick (or 2), could retire today and never work again
