Classy fans here....

Good for Gio to be way up there. It's a shame for Norris

Max pole position.

Lewis being a gentleman towards the Dutch booing fans(which I also despise!)

So kudos to Lewis!

Apparently Max DRS was not activated in DRS2 zone otherwise he would have been even faster.

You realize this has been debunked with actual time data which showed that HAM drove the exact same time as his previous out lap?

Whatever mate.

The FIA was of the opinion that the car was carrying so much momentum that there was no safe way to slow down within the time that his red light came on on his steering wheel and the speed difference between the two cars.

Of course 'some guy' on some forum that has absolutely no racing experience in an F1 car on Zandvoort seems to know better what a professional F1 driver can do in an F1 car than the FIA....

And like I said: FFS it was a practice session!
There was absolutely no gain to be had from that so why brake so hard that you would endanger yourself and the car in question, trying to slow down whatever the risk.....

geezzz...

well done to RB and Max they were faster..
and RB was complaining about something between Q2 and Q3 on Merc'.. its getting funny..

0.038 difference is crazy.. even if Mercs couldnt snatch the pole tomorrow they re in a very good position for the race..

and.. up until now i somehow observing but now im sure.. any of you guys (except RB fans) realize that.. Max fans always somehow connect with Max but Max's connection with fans is somehow dull?

i mean this is his home crowd and actually the whole track is filled by his fans.. but 1-2 short waving to them is weird.. all drivers do that every race anyway.. looks weird to me..

I'm glad you see how ridiculous my assertion has been.

I hope you and the other RBR fans can see how insane that sounded and govern yourselves accordingly in the future with regards to the insanity of saying all of the poison that has been spewed over the last couple of years.

Lets be F1 fans and not posturing rumormongers.

Fair enough?

So in the dutch analysis, they're saying that Max also made a shift error (or the gearbox didn't react 100%) that before the last corner the car missed some gears (shifting from 4 to 7) and that the DRS2 wasn't functioning.

So his pole lap could have been even considerably faster (1 or 2 tenths).
But it doesn't matter luckily.
The RB car is really good on this track. At least in Max's hands. Sadly PER can't follow the Maxpace.

I'm not mongering rumours.
I read the explanations the FIA stewards give.
Imho the stewards give good explanations in their reports.
And I don't consider myself or anyone else here knowledgeable enough to predict what an F1 car (or F1 driver) can and can't do in a high speed moment in a split second over the expert's opinion of the stewards.
So whether or not Max could have braked fast enough is a safe way....
I only believe that if you show that in person. As long as you can't do that (and you cant as you don't have an F1 car and a track at your disposal), I believe the experts' opinion of the FIA stewards.

Excellent! Then you agree with the decision from Silverstone!!
Glad to hear of it!!

I was also going to say it's easier connecting with fans off the track and behind the scenes which he does as well as anyone.

If anything the exuberant fan pleasing and lip service from some drivers at track comes across sometimes disingenuous. "I love you all! I couldn't be this fantastic without your support!" Like really? Haha

What decision?
That HAM was predominantly at fault for ramming Max off the track?
That VER left room on the inside and that HAM didn't use that room?
That HAM had a racing line that was not going towards the apex of the corner?
Sure.

And that HAM didn't get punished when he overtook LEC on the same spot?
Because he was completely on the inside of the corner as he should be where there was room?
Because he had a racing line that was clipping the apex as he should have?
Sure.

Still it was interesting to see how Kubica was performing, being testdriver and not nearly getting so much racetime in the car (and on this track).
