You're wasting your time. No matter what you say, he's going to say it's propaganda and sensationalism.

Chernobyl was an epic disaster and this series is giving viewers, many of them weren’t even born at the time a taste of what can occur when things go real bad with nuclear material. It is a learning experience not soviet propaganda meant to pull the wool over the masses eyes, some obviously need to wake up and see that. The overly sensitive Russian here will find fault with even the smallest item to whine about, pretty pathetic.

This series is awesome so far. Imagine being the two professors who understand the gravity of the situation that few people could even begin to comprehend and then come up with a plan to contain under those circumstances. Hat's off to them....they saved tens of millions of people from certain death

Fake news, obviously. Her Twitter account is not public. And RT (aka the Kremlin) doesn't like the series.

No problem. I wouldn't have known either had I not listened to the follow up podcast for each episode. I've provided links for each one in this thread. Once you find one, it's not hard to find the others. Craig Mazen goes into great detail about decisions he made and information he found to put together this mini series. The amount of attention to detail he did makes me respect the series even more. He also provides additional insight/information on things he left out due to keeping things flowing and also with some due to the graphic nature. I think anyone who is finding this mini series engaging and informative owes it to themselves to listen to the Podcasts. They're long but so worth it.

Exactly my theory for the next end of civilization as we know it, basically a domino effect of nuclear explosions/accidents/fallout where all living things die. Future civilization will be so confused as to what happened to use as there are minimal clues (future civilization would come thousands if not hundreds of thousands of years later and all of our modern infrastructure, buildings etc are buried under hundreds of thousands of years of dirt, climate changes, maybe another ice age, etc).

I'll watch the series eventually, but only because I've read/studied the incident from time to time for over 20 years as it has always fascinated me. I can't imagine there will be much to learn from the show, but I'll get around to it eventually whenever work subsides a bit.
I'm very happy to see so many people interested in this historic event however, and kudos to the show for bringing this about. The bravery and sacrifices made in such a dark moment of human history need to be remembered. |

No. Still listening to the follow up Podcast. Craig Mazen said he took dramatic liberties with the trial to tie things together. He said the actual trial took weeks to finish. Also others were at the trial which were not in the mini series so it would have been counter to the whole story had he done the trial as it actually happened. Legasov wasn't at the trial. Craig also said Fomin attempted suicide while in prison before the trial. Because of his suicide attempt, the trial was delayed.
