17 year olds should not drive 335is. Unless they're 17 year old hot jailbait lesbians. Then, by all means, go for it.

depends on the individual,

I for one would be very careful with a nice car like that at such a young age, maybe accelerate fast from stoplights (if it's my car), but never anything ridiculously stupid like that. And I know a bunch of people who are ridiculously stupid like that :P

I'm 18 and still in high school, and all my friends drive like jackasses... They all drive recklessly, and try to act cool. It's very embarrassing seeing little Asian kids heading out of the school parking lot at 45mph. I know I'm not a good driver, but hell, I even show off at school, but I try keep myself in check, but it's AMAZINGLY difficult to do with a 335i. Like Uncle Ben said in Spider-Man "Remember, with great power comes great responsibility."

I'm proud to say that on school days I drive under 3,000RPM. And on weekends I try to keep it down still, but I gotta unleash the beast.

At my school, the nicer the car was, it seemed that the kid had more respect for it and the rules of the road. Sure there were M's and P cars and hell even a Maserati, but the guys who drove them were never the ones getting tickets, or worse, getting in wrecks.

It was mostly the guys that fit into the charger/mustang group (not to say they are all bad drivers) that always did dumb shit in the lot or after school. I had a 1995 es300 so there wasnt too much temptation, but that doesnt change the fact that I never took part in any overly reckless shit.

Yes, younger people typically have less driving experience but many of the enthusiasts I knew had a hell of a lot more respect for driving than any of the soccer moms ever did...

LOL. I'm 3/4 Korean, and 1/4 Italian, and I'm not a bad big white man. Hahah. I'm like 5'9. I'm saying little Asian kids, because they're my friends. And that's what they are. They're kids, and they won't grow up until something drastic happens to them. Take for example one of my friends; he was driving under the influence, and crashed in to a lamp post, he almost died for Christ's sake. He got his license taken away until he's 21. And what do you know, he still hasn't changed. He's still doing drugs and such. Nothing changed him. And he's Asian, little, and he is a kid. I'm not referring to ALL asian kids, just my friends.
