I'm not so sorry for him as much for the amount of stimulants he has to take before he does his jovial walk

Was in Vegas a couple of weeks ago for the end of the SEMA show - still had a decent amount to do to be ready but you know they will get it done one way or the other. I can say that if I'm in Vegas there is no way I'm sitting in the stands watching the race at night. Tickets definitely readily more available and I can understand why - think its going to be crappy viewing in the stands and too freaking cold to watch a race outside. It does sound like they expect it to still be by far the biggest weekend in regards to money Vegas has seen - and that is saying a lot. They expect the big money to still be strong. The cabs are all adding a surcharge to every trip and it is being recommended to get to the airport for departure 4 hours early. Getting around is going to be a nightmare even though they are opening the strip back up between on track sessions. Been there during New Year when the strip is closed at times and basically just can be best to not leave the hotel it becomes such a mess to get around. Curious if all the lights flashing around are going to mess with the drivers too.
View from our balcony at the Cosmo - those temporary suites next to the Bellagio fountains might be good viewing but everything else I saw looked meh. Really hope it is a good race but feel like there is a decent chance it turns into a real shit show too |

Surprised more don’t have F1TV? It’s an amazing bargain for what you get and can watch races at anytime. The library of old races going back like 40 years is fantastic too, but damn does it hurt to hear those V10s now.

Agree lots of value there. And watching the Brazilian GP on my phone sitting in the Vegas airport while our flight home was delayed was a nice bonus too. I do watch the Sky broadcast on ESPN more often due to convenience with my home tv setup though so don't miss out on those amazingly awkward pit walks.

That's about the time that the majority of races start for me, if not earlier...
Agreed. I love watching quali and having up the data page on my computer so I can see who's going purple/green/yellow and in what in what portions of the track. Race day seems to be a little less useful, but I've used it to pop into different driver cockpits when the regular broadcast isn't covering a battle that I want to watch (like when they had to cut away from the Checo/Alonso battle to watch Max cross the finish line). It can be good to take a peak into the strategy too, and see when everyone's pitting. |

For North American viewers:
A CNBC documentary. "Inside Track: The Business of Formula 1" Tomorrow, 8:00 pm, 11-16-23 A look from a business standpoint. It could be just a "fluff" piece...but hopefully not. "The documentary “Inside Track: The Business of Formula 1 " will debut Nov. 16 on CNBC ahead of the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix. The Las Vegas race is a third stop in the United States this season as F1 has expanded through North America behind a burst of popularity sparked by Netflix's own docudrama on the series." https://www.autoblog.com/2023/10/29/...as-grand-prix/ https://www.cnbc.com/inside-track-th...-of-formula-1/ |

HULU has decided that I'm no longer in the USA so I can't get any channels. I can't tell you how pissed I will be if I can't watch the GP. Been on tech support for a hour now. These children are always screwing with stuff and breaking it.
Turns out the Clowns at Hulu blocked my IP address. I used a vpn on a iPad to prove they blocked the IP. Back to normal. That's a hour of my life I'll never get back. Children should not be allowed to code or administer. Last edited by Car-Addicted; 11-15-2023 at 05:59 PM.. Reason: Added resolution. |
