There is no reason to spend $100k on a 2.5L turbo Boxster when you can pay $10k more for a 4.0L NA Boxster GTS. Also, Porsche sports car prices have increased significantly in the past 2-3 years. Porsche couldn't make enough of their sports car after COVID and the chip shortage, especially 911s, and dealers were charging significantly over MSRP. Porsche saw what dealers were doing and wanted the money for themselves so they raised prices significantly yearly. Now the same 911 in 2024 is priced $30k more than in 2020. And since prices have risen, people who bought new 911s in 2020, and selling now are almost breaking even on what they paid since a new one is $30k more than 4 years ago.

Yeah not sure on the 4.0 as used they are going for $120k... not sure I have ever seen a new one listed. So comparing used prices the 2.5s are around $60-$70k and the 4.0 are like $110k-$120k so almost double the price. I'm not sure how they compare new since like I said I've never seen a new 4.0 listed anywhere. Even the base 2.5s dealers might have ONE listed.

Anyways not worth almost 5x what the Miata cost me. Not even counting maintenance and repairs.

718 GTS 4.0 models are $95-105K used. 718 GT4s are $115-130K used. I agree that the GTS makes a lot of sense since a 2.5 GTS or well-optioned S is not too far away a GTS 4.0.
