My work golf league starts tonight and I can't freakin wait!

Currently 63 degrees outside and nothing but sunny blue skies!!

Thought I played pretty decent last night for the first week of my companies golf league. We only play 9 holes. Shot a 46 which I thought was amazing to be honest.

Started strong but as soon as the wind picked up and the temps dropped, I could definitely tell I was stiffening up and my swings didn't feel as fluid as they were at the start. So the last 3 or so holes were a struggle.

Felt great being back out there!

Quest to break 80 starts this season. Index has dropped to 10.7 as of last weekend. Shot 84 and 83. I had a double bogie on 17 and bogie on 18. Should never have checked my score toward the end. 42 on front 41 on back.

I will be happy getting to single digit hc honestly. I started golf only 4 years ago but as a hockey player I think it helps a bit with this game.

We had our monthly Gentlemen night out last night.

Golf is 4 man teams playing a 12 hole course. Each player has to hit 3 TEE shots that are pre-defined. Ergo the A player has to tee off on 1-5-9. No matter where it goes we play that as a scramble in. He is off the blacks. B player next tees up. D player off the shortest tees. Let me tell you there is a bit of pressure when you are standing on the tee and you can't win the match with a great tee shot but you sure as heck can lose it with an OB. 8 teams so 32 guys.

After golf dinner on the patio and poker for those so inclined. I pass on the poker. I was taught it you sit down to play poker and can't spot the guppy that means everyone else has.

Finally got the results back from the first night of my companies golf league and I ended up hitting the longest putt. Was a 6ft putt I believe. So not too long.

League night #2 is tomorrow and the weather is supposed to be 81 and nothing but sunny blue skies! A little better than last week when it was about 40s with a wind chill.

Played like garbage last night. Drives were spot on and same with irons...for the most part. What killed me was my chipping about 10-30ft out from the green. Easily added 2-3 strokes per hole. Not happy. Will need to work on that this weekend before we play again next Wednesday.

I played in a skins game yesterday. 28 guys. Shot 72, 6 birdies, not one skin. In fairness, 4 birdies were the par 5s which rarely win and one was on a drive able par four which usually needs eagle to win. Still best round I've had in over 6 months. Finally over the new hip and the Tuesday AM lesson found my swing problem (probably created because of the hip).

Played Black Horse in Monterey. Shot an 87....with 42 putts. Greens were like marble and my chipping sucked.

Gonna go work on my chipping and putting some more today.

Is that on the old Army base? I think I played that in another life. Don't remember much about it except that it hurt my feelings.

No, that's Monterey Pines that I think you're thinking of.'

edit: guess not, they used to be part of Ford Ord. Monterey Pines is managed by the Navy Golf Program (side note, wtf? Can I get a permanent duty station assignment there till I collect retirement?) and is known as "the Navy Course" hence my mixup.

They are. In Seaside. Monterey Pines is down by the airport (MRY), a bit South of the base.

Week #3 of my golf league was this past Wednesday. My drives were spot on! Almost too good as I had to rely on my high irons for my second shot. Chipping was still mediocre but it was nice to get out. Weather was cooler but we had a massive rain storm the night before...luckily the grass somewhat dried out but was still wet.

Supposed to be mid 60's and sunny this weekend here in Cincinnati. Wish I was playing 18! But I have too many things to get done on the honey do list.

Played Torrey Pines South course last weekend. I’m a 12 handicap and managed to shoot a 96. Front 9 with 2 birdies shooting a 42 and the back was a disaster!! The back 9 bunkers and roughs were brutal! My goal was to break 90s and not lose any balls which I played with a single ball the entire round. Cant wait to play this weekend at my local course (skylinks Long Beach)!

Week #4 of my gold league tonight! Fingers crossed the rain stays away. Been looking forward to getting out on the course all week!

Played 18 holes with my Dad this past Friday. Shot a 96 and figured out a few things that should hopefully help for my Wednesday golf league.

High of 68-70 and sunny tomorrow for our 4:54pm ET tee time! Can't get much better than that! Wooooooooo

Week #6 of my company golf league was last night. Pretty much played the best golf ever in my life. Shot a 44 (9 holes). Par is 35. Couldn't believe it.

We were the 2nd foursome tee time (6 total tee times), but as far as I know, I had the longest drive and closest to pin. I probably won't know if I actually won until next Tuesday.

nice! I lived down there for a few years and use to play there handful times a month. Were you able to get in under 6 hours lol.
