Raspberry Pi 5 kit. I need to run a Scrypted box so I can get my PoE cams into Homekit. More rabbit hole stuff.

My third. OpenVPN, Homebridge, and soon Scrypted. The first two are RPi4s and cost about $35 each. This one was $170 with the aluminum case. Their popularity in home automation has really driven up the price. Plus they pack more horsepower now than the RPi4s.

I went for lunch at my favorite German Gasthof and adjacent butcher shop and picked up 4 types of sausages: Weiss, Bock, Knack and Oktoberfest Brat. All nicely vacuum packed now and in the freezer.

It looks like a lot, but it could have been wurst.

Got the call today from Room and Board and picked up the Minister of War & Finance's new chair.

Spendy, but very comfortable. It's her primary "Read/TV" chair, so probably worth it.

Room & Board is spendy, but they make nice stuff.

Nice chair. I see a kitty.

Is that the injured one? (don’t remember the name)

Nope-- that's Boo.

Looks like a model, dumb as a post.

Max (the injured one) is doing GREAT though. Vet's pretty amazed at his progress. We've upgraded to "no boot when under supervision, and absolutely NO jumping". He's gaiting normally, so we're all pretty stoked.

The downside is that due to the weakness of his tendon, he's still stuck in the orthotic boot for the majority of the time until about May.

But, we're calling this a win.

Picked up the flooring for the project house. This is the first load that Joe on the forklift managed to shoehorn into the Office. He only had about an inch on either side to work with. 63 boxes that all had to be hand-bombed inside and up stairs. At least I was able to back right up to the front step... from which I removed the old and ratty handrail.

The second load was much smaller. Just 16 boxes of vinyl plank flooring for the basement and tile for the bathroom floors. It did however manage to slide forward and off the pallet making it very difficult to unload.

We’ve bought so much of our furniture from them our place could be a showroom. Actually have three more things being delivered on Wednesday. It is all really nice, and the staff at the stores are always so helpful.

I've thought about that. I have a cool workbench in the garage with all kinds of tech stuff. I'd probably spend more time out there if the temps were more tolerable. I'm just not sure it's worth the investment for me.

That sounds pretty cool! Wasn’t super expensive. Under $2k. It’s nice cause it keeps all my detailing products temperature controlled and the cars and it’s nice for when I’m working out there too. Especially here in Texas.

After a full day of mutual consultation, rubbing, sniffing and eventually crashing on it for the afternoon, The Boys have given their full seal of approval to the new chair.

Thanx. I get a lot of very positive reactions to it... and some negative. Apparently there are more coulrophobics out there than one would believe.
I've had people wait for me to come out of a store to tell me how much they like it. I've seen people hanging out their car window at 120kph trying to get a photo of it. It is a bit subtle for the most part but he ( I call him Ernie ) really jumps out at you on a bright sunny day.

Nice. Do you have insulated garage walls/ceiling and doors? I was planning to do the same, so I insulated the garage when we built, but doors are “standard.”

Curious of run time and overall efficiency.
