I recommend IL2 Sturmovik Great Battles Series (I only play offline, but this simulator has significant online following, too). If you decide to go that route you should probably buy "Battle of Kuban" and "Battle of Bondenplatte Early Access". I am having a literal blast flying Hawker Tempest Mk 5 which was only released a couple of days ago along with P-38 and P-51.

One of the great things about IL2 is that it is scalable from an almost-arcade game to a full-fledged simulator, depending how many computer-helper checkboxes you check (like for example: simplified physics or simplified engine management). And you can even enable computer tips which give you advise on what you're doing wrong during your flight. So it is accessible to almost everyone.

But for the most authentic experience, you will eventually have to disable all the computer helpers from the simulator and fly purely relying on authentic instrumentation using real-life procedures and tactics. That's where this simulator really comes into its own, offering superlative, even transfixing experience of flight and aerial WW2 combat.

Also you cannot skimp on hardware: as a minimum you will need VKB rudders, TrackIR and VKB or Virpil joystick (no cheap Logitech stuff).

Good luck with your search (and if you're interested check some MagzTV Youtube IL2 videos).

I have only the cheap Logitech joysticks (they are at least 12 years old) and my laptop has a 2gb graphics card.
I used to really enjoy the microsoft flight simulator on on difficult settings, and Microsoft CFS 2 also.

Falcon 4.0 has a big online community but thats one of the most complex simulations imo.

Gears 5 is great, been slowly playing through it. Just picked up the new Ghost Recon so it's taken my attention away from Gears

Well, if a civilian simulator is more your cup-of-tea, it may be time to splurge on a new gaming system, because it looks like a watershed moment for the genre is right on the horizon:

I am still trying to wrap my head around some of the technology used to recreate our world in such stunning detail, because generating convincing 3d models based on flat satellite data sounds like black magic to me.

I hope it is not overhyped.

I stopped playing FSX for a longer time and actually I don't think that FS2020 would increase my playtime for flight simulators in total. At least its a money print machine for MS, the community shrinks every year and I miss the opportunity to expand the flights into combat.
DCS is sometimes nice to play if you want a quick one...

I’ve started replaying the Sly Cooper series. First seeing this game on Apknite and this time is the 5th time playing it in my life. What’s kind of ironic (and sad) is that each game gets easier and easier. But for me, it's still a fantastic series though.

I'm downloading Microsoft combat flight simulator two to my new laptop. With the movie midway coming out, I'm gonna celebrate that by bombing the living hell out of the Japanese fleet!

If you like fps games I recommend Rainbow Six siege. First there is very toxic people playing there cause they think they are the best etc. But after you get to know maps etc. you will like it I promise

I play it a lot. About 1k hours now

Playing the World of Warcraft now Usually I like to play this before working on real estate projects for my company (e.g. searching for these flats in Italy)
