Its an amazing place, we went there for two weeks almost three just to not need to rush through the country and no we didn't see Björk, but we saw a lot of wonderful environments and experienced the midnight sun witch was very weird sun not setting at all during the night, my only regret and recommendation to anyone wanting to do a road trip there, do not cheap out on the car you choose get a SUV preferably 4x4 witch our little mazda 2 couldn't handle, then you can go off-road and see even more of the country and a proper recommendation to not just follow route 1 but go all the way to the west fjords witch was one of the oldest part of Iceland.
