Oh yeah, nice pick up! Er... future pick up I guess. :
ca laws are nuts, your ccw (as they are called here) is completely dependent on what county you live in. Many (most?) counties are effectively shall issue, you do have to jump through some hoops (statement of why you have a need, interview by sheriffs office, class, qualification). The big counties, still will not issue, period (unless you are a politician or major donor, i think sf issued 1 in the last couple years to a connected individual, shocking)

I live in a no issue county, fortunately i have a home in a sane county.

Yes, you still have to wait 10 days if you have a valid ccw, i understand that that rule changed, but got tangled up in the courts or some nonsense, even kids can't keep up.

So...what part of fishing requires you to bring your entire gun collection with you?

Not many lake fish need guns, except the ones with cement shoes.

I get recruiters all the time who ask about taking jobs in California and I always tell them I own too many guns that would be illegal there. Most of the time they hang up on me without saying another word. Not sure why.

Just got a glock 23 a couple weeks ago and signed up for CCW class (April 1st)..

Only thing I'm really needing now is a IWB holster. I'm thinking I'll want to carry at about 4-5 o'clock position. Any recommendations?

StealthgearUSA.com

I've tried five or six I WB holsters which I carry at four to 5 o'clock. Stealth gear is by far the most comfortable.

Crossbreed is also very comfortable but it can get hot having 100sq in of 1/4" thick leather up against you all day. But very high quality and will last forever.

The most comfortable IWB is crossbreed, not the cheapest, but the best I've had. Alien Gear is 80% as good, for quite a bit less and they have an amazing warranty, and free shell trade.

The other thing you WILL NEED is a proper gun belt, the belt makes all the difference.

I second that, using a very stiff leather belt for the bigger hand guns holstered and alternative from my backpack a vinyl-velcro locked one, because this thing wont make the metal scanners at the airports crazy

This.

A good carry belt is to conceal carry as a footer foundation is to a block home. Don't underestimate a good belt. Almost all of us did at one point and learned the lesson some years later.

Ares gear. Aegis Enhanced is a fantastic carry belt. http://www.aresgear.com/index.php?ma...roducts_id=455

I actually have one that i grew out of if you're interested and the right size.

But for IWB only, the standard Aegis belt is awesome. http://www.aresgear.com/index.php?ma...index&cPath=99
