The most popular beer is Cristal, but, if you can find it go for Pilsen Callao--that being said I would take a Cusquena over Cristal. Also, just to toss it at you, have you tried the soda Inca Cola? Tastes like Juicy fruit gum. I've never figured out how to mix it, but maybe you will.
I kept seeing that Inka cola, both sugared and un, but just never got around to tasting it.

The first night in Lima, the driver who took us to the B&B kept raving on his pisco sours. So, he made us some. Best one I had in Peru. His stated magic was to GENTLY squeeze the lime, so you only get the inner juice and not the bitters from the peel. I think it was the 2 cups of sugar he put in the blender, myself. We visited some hotel in Lima that was supposed to be the original of the PS, but I had a Cosmopolitan (OK, 2) for lunch instead. At the end of the tour that day we ended up at another bar/hotel where the guy was awarded best PS in Peru the year before. I still liked that first one best.

Been enjoying the Balvenie Caribbean Cask this week. Good to get back to Scotch for a bit.

My daughter-in-law just came back from Cuba on vacation and brought me a bottle of Havana Club 7 rum. I'm a scotch and bourbon person so I don't know rum at all. All I can say is I really liked this rum. Just a bit of crushed ice. Excellent.

^^^That looks good. Great color.

I'm still savoring the Balvenie Caribbean Cask. If you haven't tried it, get some. I had forgotten how tasty it is.

Time for a FastNFurious style attitude rap: "with alcohol injection, I can pass anything but a liquor store" At least for a good Islay malt.

Tex, I can't get past the small cubes. Is this accepted practice in the rum world? Looks odd without a single ice block or sphere. Is this just a whiskey thing?

Never having tried monkey piss, I can't comment either way.

Do you squeeze your own monkey? Or do you buy it in one of those "world market" stores?

It ain't cheap, but even though it's top shelf rum, it's still quite a bit cheaper than top shelf Scotch.

Good question. So honestly, sometimes, I am somewhat of a fast drinker. It doesn't have long enough to get watered down.
If I know I may be sipping on it for longer with say a cigar, I won't even add ice.
I do have chiller cubes that are stainless steel if I want to be perfect.

Are we talking the same RUM pictured here???

Because there is no way in Hades we could be! This rum is about the tastiest liquor one could ever drink. I mean even if you don't care for the taste/flavor profile (which is very pleasant) it is far from pungent, bitter, or strong.
I am confused hoss...
