Yes, that is also a track I really like. I think "Nothing Like The Sun" was his best album by far. I also think I remember when I was a bit nerdy about CD recordings, and I'm sure you remember this as well, but the CD cases would always indicate the type of audio recording it was. They used to designate a fully digital recording as "DDD" meaning a digital tape recorder was used in the recording process. The entirety of the recording was done digitally. Basically speaking it was the best quality recording possible for a standard CD. I specifically remember how Sting's albums were almost always DDD meaning they sounded great. Compared to AAD (Analog tape recorder), it was a step up. |

One of the first DDD was the excellent "Brothers In Arms" album by Dire Straits. I remember that when a music shop demonstrated a rig, they usually played a track of that album because of its sonic qualities. Dire Straits - "Ride Across The River" (1985) Check from 04:20 onwards: Dire Straits - "Why Worry ?" (1985): Check from 04:25 onwards:

This is another track from an electronic music (deep house) duo out of NYC that I really like. They have a unique sound to them IMO. I've posted up a few of their songs in the recent past and this is one more.
It's an interesting one as it gives me both a feeling of happiness and melancholy at the same time which is unusual and I can't quite put a finger on it. I enjoy it tremendously. It's soothing and brilliantly produced. You have to let it play out a bit before it hits its stride around the 1:03 mark. This record label "Balkan Connection" based in Serbia is fantastic. |

Late Night Alumni, one of my favorite sort of lounge style music artists out of SF. Kaskade of course has his imprints all over this band.
Something about the vocalist's voice. This track's high point is hit at the 2:16 mark. Pulling me up out of my minor key. Falling away, singing in the mess I’d made. Oh happy day, if we’re all souls inside of bodies. Your musical face, smiling all the things you know. |

Allow me to surprise you with this amazing cover.

Another Sting cover. Discovered this when I watched The Thomas Crown Affair many years ago.

I had to look this song up because it was very familiar to me. It was first sung by Noel Harrison. It was in the first version of The Thomas Crown Affair (1968) and won the Academy Award for Best Original Song. Here it is: |

One wheel was bent and the other bent and cracked. One tire had a bubble and plugging it is a bit silly. The one I drove on now has wear from the inside of the tire. So most likely scrapping both tires. Had to borrow a vehicle to drop the wheels off. Then to pick one of the wheels up as the cracked one was not ready yet. I'll take it over being in a war in Europe so it is what it is. And thanks for asking Rick, it was appreciated. |
