You think everyone can just up and move? No sweetheart. Where I live, without giving out my address, I can tell you the neighborhood I live in is practically fort knox. There is no crime. The only time I've called police was when my 335is locked itself with my infant child and the key fob inside. That being said, sometimes where you have to be is out of your control. When I first took my job we were located in a nice quiet area. 2.5 years later, we outgrew our office and our firm merged with another larger firm downtown. The building we are in is huge, however it's a very old, historic building. There's only so many parking spot for contractor parkers and well they are all full. So guess what? I have to park in a garage two blocks down. It's not something I have control over. So to just switch jobs, is not going to happen Aussie. I have a boss who does anything for me and that doesn't happen in most work places. I'm not leaving my job.

You cannot predict the future however, you can be prepared for it. Do you think any of those people in Paris thought they'd be shot up going to a concert? Most likely no. Do you realize the only way they'd make it out alive is if the shooters just decided to stop, run out of ammo, or by the grace of God not be found. Would you want to be in that situation? Scared to breathe or make a sound because you cannot defend yourself against a criminal?

Nah. The concept is you can defend yourself instead of have the police solve your murder. Its not any more violent. I've never heard a gunshot in anger in 50 years, or seen a crime more violent than a bar fight. Its not something you want. But its like car insurance better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Nobody protects you and your family but you. Why not be as capable to do so if needed?

I bet most m3 owners live in nice neighborhoods where almost no crime happens.
The problem is people who do evil things tend to have access to transportation. The last time I checked I have to drive OUT of my "utopia" neighborhood with my m3 where the "other" people may be lol. Just like life insurance, I don't intend on using intentionally. The beauty is that in the free states of the USA we have the right to carry if we wish. There might be a moment(s) in one's life where carrying a pistol would make the difference between being a victim or not. Some of us choose to have the power to control a situation that is out of the ordinary. After carrying for a while I find it alien to NOT carry since it is such a small inconvenience with a proper holster.

As I said before, if you think criminals don't migrate out of their holes because of some imaginary wall, you just don't have a grasp in reality. Just because a neighborhood is safe doesn't mean criminals don't know where these homes are and haven't staked them out to see if there are moments of opportunity.

I've already said there was a home invasion in my neighborhood quite a few years back even though there was a state trooper and a deputy county sheriff living here. I have a very wealthy friend that has a fully fenced and automated gate around his property with security cameras protecting his 10,000+ sf home. He carries all the time and has various firearms in his home for protection.

It's interesting the stereotype of these anti gun people where they think because all of a sudden when people have a gun that we all turn psychotic and go looking for a fight. It's the same thing with people trained to fight such as martial arts.

This is the last comment I'll make in regards to someone trying to stir something up in this thread with the probable goal to get it shut down.

Nobody blinks an eye when they see a policeman with a firearm. Police commit less than 1% of gun crime. So why do people get upset about people carrying? Concealed carry permit owners commit less than 1/10 of the gun crimes polive do, yet they stop millions of crimes annually. As you can see in the Atlanta video, the cops appreciate carry permit owners and he did everything right. Only thing I'd do differently that idk he did was ask permission to retrieve his firearm. Good job. The vast majority of gun crime is committed by a small minority of repeat offenders. They are criminals who will get a gun any way possible, and if they have any felony conviction, illegally. Laws won't stop them getting a gun. Smart laws blocked by liberals would give long mandatory sentences for crimes committed with a firearm. Those are blocjed by liberals. Instead they try to put in place laws that restrict ownership, taking the guns away from the good guys because they can't understand a gun can be used for good not evil. This is the basic argument. Luckily carry permits are increasing in number of dtstes issuing them. Only a few states, run by liberals and with high gun crime still don't offer them or make them so restrictive or hard to get there may as well be no permits anyway.
