If you pay with paypal and are registered on all three sites, you get your cashback money back. One small catch, to combat someone sending back the item right after they receive the cashback, the money is typically deposited after 60 days of purchase. Some deposit immediately but those are rare.

I received the maximum 200 per purchase for my nikon 14-24mm lens earlier this year. Cashback rocks!... PM me if you need any help.

+1.. I have received a total of around $200 over the last 4 weeks on the purchases I made in Feb/March on my lens/filters/camera body. (I just bought 50D back in March).

It takes 60-90 days for them to cash back your paypal account, but they will eventually come back to you..

Hey, money is money.. it is only 8%, sure, but if you are spending $2000, you'd get $160 back, which is the price of a good 77mm B+W CPL, which you will need for your 70-200 f2.8 (if you go for f2.8)..

that is very true. On a side note, almost 1/2 of the developers at M$ are said to use Google.

But the word has been known to be used as a verb, meaning to search the internet. Now what you use to do so is entirely your choice

"Google" is indeed officially a verb, but many of us only use it to refer to actually using Google. I "search Yahoo" or "search Bing", but I might suggest to you to "google it."

True except I will probably not spend $160 on a filter... a UV coated Hoya is like $15 bucks... thats just fine for me

If you're going to get L-lenses, don't skimp on you filters. Do without until you can afford Hoya's better, if not best line, which will be up in the $100 range.

I forget who for sure, but I think it was either Fred Miranda or Shutterbug did a comparison and the more expensive filters were almost distortion free.

Well I wasn't serious about the $15 part but I have a $60 tiffen on my 16-35L. I'm not gonna spend much more than that on ANY filter, regardless of what lens it's on. Those things cost $1.25 to make, maybe $2. 200% profit is a rip off

I used to be anal about having UV filters on all my lenses for protection, but I've gotten used to not having them. Lens hoods do a good enough job protecting my lenses.

Shoot, now you're going to force me to find the comparison test to show you the value of good glass in front of your glass. I'll be back after I dig them up again. I'm using Hoya Pro-something.

BTW, some people view a UV filter only as protection of the lens. That's a useful view, BUT, if you take many photos outside of the "golden hours", like anytime from 11a.m. to 3p.m., a high quality UV filter will enhance your images giantly.

actually, the filter is there for most of the dusts protection as many would use a hood.. i.e. sooner or later, you WILL have dusts on your glass, and no matter how "soft" your microfibre/brush is, I wouldnt want to use that on my glasses.. but on a filter glass? yes. (of course, you'd clean/blow all the dust out before you you put on your filter.

On filters, while for casual shooting, you dont need some type of $200 UV filter, but get a good $60 one is not out of line IMO, in protection + enhencement of image on a $1000+ lens.

I, too, cannot justify B+W high prices (which I am sure are of supreme quality, but just a bit much) .. So, what I have is B+W MC UV filters that run decent price at around $70-80, and Hoya CPLs for about $100.

For the double cashback thing in August, I am gonna go shop for some B+W CPLs if I really can get 16% cashback..

Shxt, I think I just found what I might be shopping between 8/10 - 8/17...

My fiancee already told me that she's looking at some food processors... <--which we have like 2 already in the house.. bah..
