I don't think I've ever heard someone use herb in that way. At least he didn't say I haven't seen him in a minute or I've been waiting here for an ill minute. Why are people using "a minute" now to describe any amount of time??

Slang. "A second" is a brief period of time, "a minute" is a while, "a minute & a half" is a long while. I've been using that for an easy 10 years, so it's not new.

The second is the duration of 9,192,631,770 periods of the radiation corresponding to the transition between the two hyperfine levels of the ground state of the caesium 133 atom. Is that what you meant when you said it? Actually, in all seriousness, I hate the "been here fo a minute yo" when people are trying to imply that it has in fact been a while. Make up a damn word or substitute something else in there that carries with it a definition that could be construed as exaggerated or lengthy. Don't use a minute. What ever happened with Crunk and Hyphy? Did the word creation geniuses just quit? We have to borrow words whose definition flies in the face of what we're trying to say now? The creative juices are running dry methinks. So I agree with you 100%. |

No it didn't, but nice try. Hyphy and Crunk are different things, West vs South. Hyphy originated in Cali & means hyperactive. Crunk technically refers to southern crunk music, which is derivitive of a certain lifestyle.
