I grew up with the Jackass guys.. Ryan Dunn had a few tweaked out BMWs... Really down to earth guy but loved to drive fast (and have a couple too many drinks)

Here is another almost non-work story I can probably talk about: I did a project for an up and coming actor so I got invited out for drinks one night at this bar that is known to be a low key hangout for celebrities. I go and meet some of his friends plus his girlfriend and another actor who is actually really famous. I've actually met this actor before so as we were introduced I mentioned where we met earlier. He was a total dick and pretty much blew me off which is weird because he actually met my wife as well, and she said he was very nice to her. I guess not having tits and not being a celebrity means I wasn't worth his time. Jerk.

Anyway, I don't make a big deal of it, but this guy is actually cock of the walk that night and everyone else in the bar is hanging on his every word. Celebrities don't really impress me too much since I work with them all the time, so it's no big deal. I grab a drink and the girlfriend approaches me. We talk for a bit, I ask what she does, surprise surprise she is an aspiring actress as well. She hadn't done anything big yet, just small speaking roles, I wish her luck and she asks about what I do etc... you know, a normal conversation.

Cut to maybe a year later and I'm at the movies with my wife and the trailers are rolling. A new high profile movie comes up, my wife is excited because it's one of those "chick" movies that was heavily anticipated. The main actress pops up and she looks very familiar. When the name comes on screen it clicks: it's the girlfriend! She looks almost completely different mind you, that's movie magic, but it's definitely her. Since then I've been rooting for her in her career. It's nice knowing that she is genuinely a good person that didn't mind talking to the non-celebrity at the bar that one night.

I used to work at MTV at the later end of Jackass's popularity. I would see them rolling through the Santa Monica office and I can't say much, but man what a crazy time. I think that was the last time in history that it was cool to work at MTV. My desk was right by one of the MPR's that they used for casting or filming interviews and such and I had a huge desk. I literally had to tell a bunch of young wanna-be actresses and musicians to not sit on my desk on a regular basis so I could work all the time. Honestly I didn't mind so much because I was young and the girls were always hot. However, celebrities and such always used to talk to me and ask me questions about where craft services was, what time are they starting filming, where's so-and-so at because of the way my desk was positioned it looked like I was the receptionist. Finally I got them to move my desk because I couldn't get my work done.

Anyway, I gotta say that Weeman is a pretty nice guy. Always chill. I don't think I ever saw Bam pass through though. I would have wanted to talk to him about his B5 S4 since I was driving my B5 A4 at the time. It's kinda sad what happened to Ryan and subsequently Bam. It makes me feel old having these memories of MTV in the early 00's now under the shadow of these tragedies. I wish him the best though, addiction is a bitch. RIP Dunn.

If I said who the actress was it would be very easy to identify the rest of the party. But I will say that said jerk was one of the actors knocked down a few notches in past few years by the #metoo movement. No surprise there.

In the spirit of positivity I can say that one of the nicest and most interesting celebrities I've met is Jeff Goldblum. He's literally what you expect. Super quirky, always has something interesting to say and seems to be in constant wonder in everything that happens around him.

nothing major. i'm not famous at all but have been around some semi famous people.

- i grew up being friends with tyronn lue's (cavs coach who won the title with lebron) younger brother in junior high. only briefly talked with tyronn but saw him play all the time at the ymca.
- had dinner once with rob ferretti and dudeinblue of youtube fame.
- one of my patients was a part of a well known rap group

- my dad is a doc too, one of his patients in the early 2000s was a WWF regular. He sat next to pakistans former president Musharraf on a plane once.

I met him in NYC at a church where they were filming L&O SVU upstairs and I was going to a 'meeting' in the basement. Really nice guy.

Politicians and royalty are such a different type of fame, it's quite alarming. I was invited to a compound for a local Governor in a small island in SE Asia. I was literally escorted by armed military convoy from the airport to the compound. We had a double decker bus with a full bar, but there were only 6 passengers including myself and a friend. We had two Jeeps and some kind of armored APC in our single column convoy carving through the jungle. We made one stop and they literally walked us to the restroom with assault rifles and cleared the entire building for us. They stood around us as we smoked cigarettes on the street to make sure nothing would happen. I was flabergasted. No one knows me enough to want to kill me, but maybe it was one of the other passengers. Maybe just by being a guest of the local government I was at risk of ambush by the local Muslim militants? Anyway nothing happened, but the compound was something to behold. It had its own zoo and a suite built just for his friend, some Prince from Saudi Arabia that likes to visit often. There were pictures of the Governor's military exploits on the walls, posing in front of troops, military vehicles etc, very macho. We had a wait staff on call at all hours, meals prepared whenever we wanted, people to carry our gear when we went hunting. We were always surrounded by armed guards. I swear if I didn't know he was an elected official I would think I was staying with the head of a drug cartel in Columbia or Mexico.

As I have stated in the now deceased political forums, I guess you could say I am in an adjacent and somewhat overlapping circle with Trump, which is why I have a certain opinion of him not because of what I hear on the news, but because of personal experience. I can only imagine the maelstrom of celebrity and political fame this man has and the mechanics of his personality type thriving in it. I don't want to make it political, so I will say as a general statement that politics is the scariest type of fame because it's still about "show business" except you can turn off a TV show or walk out of a theatre, but you can't get away from the reach of politics.

Nice story to hear as I grew up in the Detroit area and in total have spent roughly half my life there. I met Herman Moore, WR for the Lions at the time. Also ran into Rasheed Wallace, Ben Wallace, and Sergei Federov. I'm amazed I never met more of these guys. Great sports town for a number of decades, now total trash.

On a side note I know a lot of people who've ran into Kobe in the Newport Beach/Irvine area. I moved to the area just a few months before he passed, sad I never got to see him.

I've treated a Medal of Honor recipient, two who've earned Silver Stars, and enough Bronze Stars to lose count. Some great stories (and some awful ones) but my fav was the guy who was Elvis' chauffer around Berlin back in the day.
