With Max being quite a bit faster in the past 2 races (and now his pole position is also a quarter of a second faster), I wonder how much of an advantage Mercedes DAS system gave last year.

Clearly RB has made some significant gains on MERC with this seasons' change.

I saw a graphic a early in the season and everybody has lost performance compared to last year because of the floor regulations and level of rake. I think the Merc lost over a second. I remember the Alpine team complaining about it at the start of the season

I feel so damn sorry for the HAAS team . The car is actually crap with older parts from other teams .

yes as expected mate.. i even told before quali started as well in previous pages..

you think Red Bull worked crazily hard and gained a second between seasons in 3-4 months under only one regulation change? that d be naive..

supposedly protective for Merc' FIA made the move with floor against low-rake cars and the fastest one was Mercs.. high-rake cars depends less for creating low pressure since the whole car acts like a reversed wing..

the most improved part Red Bull did is the engine.. so Honda did it..

pole times are almost 1 second slower this year on each track and it ll be like that.. so Red Bull havent got faster, Merc' got slower.. be my guest and check the times yourself.. stopwatch never lies.. so dont even debate on that if you want to stick to reality..

Honda improved quite nicely.. even the engine sounds differently this season.. applause to Honda for their work.. but im expecting a better race pace from Merc's tomorrow i hope it ll be like that..

DAS never been used for higher straight line speed.. by the way race cars dont have 0 toe on front.. they almost every time adjusted to toe out on front..

Not in the same way.
The floor changes impacted low rake long wheel base cars far more. (Merc & Aston)
This was exactly why they made the rule change.

I'm really surprised that they didn't think of this sooner.
