But can’t change providers without upsetting the household.
I had Tidal hi-res for a year and then had issues and support was useless so I just quit them and went to spotify. Honestly I never feel like 320 sounds bad, I just realize how much better higher res and vinyl sounds. Like they're clearly better, but its not like the 320 is unlistenable or even annoying.

I remember it being on the banned list for the Navy but it didn't stop us. Great scene, I wish I was more into it then as we have a large collection of DJ Baby Anne vinyl now and knowing I could have seen her kind of makes me angry.

Yeah I think it's expensive, imagine how expensive it's for an 18 year old.

Also re-releases. Over here (europe) a re-release, like this one from Lloyd cole & the commotions, nothing special, just a single disc like the original, costs €37,--, so $41 US:
https://www.platomania.nl/article/12...ces/cole_lloyd
And this is not a rare album (the original one).
So not a new mix, like Mofi does, just a copy of the 80's one.
Easy money, as pressing the disc incl cutting, making the sleeve, postage etc costs about $3,50 or so. The rest is profit (so that's 1000% profit the store, record company and artist can divide amongst themselves)
All the costs of making the album, promotion, time etc were made and earned back in the 80's

New, 2 disc pressings usually cost €45-€55 over here in Europe (so $50-$60 US)

This TS one was a 3 LP album, so sort of able to justify it (I guess).
Still, $50 for an album is a LOT of money.

So that’s ~$16 a record, so that’s a little better.

Way more than I used to pay, though.

When I started buying LPs, they were $3 each.

I just received this signed and numbered limited edition yellow vinyl copy of OMD’s just released album.

To quote a famous Aussie, do yourself a favour and have a listen!

Just got home from playing a few hours in a volleyball tournament. If I muster up the energy, you've given me the inspiration to break out some vinyl that I haven't even played yet on my turntable: Norah Jones, Dizzy Gillespie, Diana Krall.....

I had been wanting to add a turntable to our family room for ages. I had one in an over-the-garage bonus room but don't spend much time there. I was able to come up with a stealth configuration that my wife was also happy with and now can enjoy vinyl in the room we spend the most time in.

Recent remodel included new cabinets for my stereo, turntable, and AV components’. Mesh doors, AC Infinity Aircom T10's with front exhaust on top of my AVR and Stereo Preamp, amplifiers in a cabinet I built in the crawl space under the family room.

The remodel picture is the top left, the bottom is the old cabinet.

2.2 system: Anthem STR Preamp, Bryston 6BSST, QSC PLD4.2, 2 ea. Dynaudio Contour 20, 2 ea. Scan-Speak 32W/4878T Revelator 13" Subwoofer’s, VPI Prime Turntable, Ortofon MC Cadenza Bronze Cartridge. The Anthem has a Home Theater Bypass feature that allows sharing of the stereo speakers and subwoofers in a 5.2, AVR based system.
