Indeed, I noticed this too .
Pic was shot in sunny weather and the crowd was in T-shirts .

The article was posted yesterday, November 12 on X . This means this was an old pic from in summer .

But Jos won yesterday the rally . This Dutch article is from today => https://www.gptoday.net/nl/nieuws/f1...niet-makkelijk

BTW : Jos got bad luck by several tire punctures and lost a lot of time , but he still won the rally .

Normal temps this time of year is lower 40f. They are lucky to be seeing 10f above normal temps.

I don't get the reasoning behind having this race at this time of year.

NOAA is pretty reliable and predicting rain during quali, but not during the race event.

Plus with a starting time so late at night when the low temp of the day is. Who wants to be sitting in the stands in the middle of the night freezing your butt off....

I assume the race will be live on ESPN and replayed on some channel at a normal time Sunday morning/afternoon. But unlike a race oversees not catching some coverage of what happened will be tougher to avoid. Even with a PST of 10pm, the race will end at midnight. Though F1 fans in the US are used to sacrificing to watch at all hours.

Its complete nonsense they have a US race with zero consideration for the US fanbase. Obviously that schedule was made to accommodate European viewership vs viewership in the country actually holding the race.

In most of Europe the race is at 7AM sundaymorning, and in the UK at 6AM sundaymorning.

If they'd held the GP at 14:00 local time, it would be at 23:00 european time.
23:00h is a way better time to watch a gp than at 7AM in my book so I doubt it's to accommodate European viewership (at least this european's viewership )

It's live and those of us addicted to F1 have been getting up or staying up at obscene hours for years.
Who remembers the good old days of delayed programing when ESPN would display the winner of the race on the chyron before the race aired. Dam near cost me a couple TV's

You're mis-remembering. Once Bernie took control, he only sold the TV rights to entities that agreed to broadcast the race live and in its entirety (gone were the days of ABC's Wide World of Sports only showing exerpts of the GP of Monaco). Rights holders could re-broadcast later, but were required televise the race as it ran. Ecclestone grew the sport globally by doing this. We certainly did watch in the good old days...many times staying up for those early morning Australia and Japan Grand Prix's...now we dvr it. SpeedVision (later Speed TV) would then continually show re-runs throughout the week. But the point Liberty keeps telling us is how they're growing the sport in NA...bringing in the new viewer...having a 1:00 am east coast start won't find new viewers.

Nope. I had TIVO then so the races were taped and there were multiple airings and ESPN spoiled them before I could watch them. That is why I'm a Live race watcher now. But you are correct on the history as I remember it.

ESPN has only broadcast the races in recent years (2017-now). Following being televised on Speed Vision (Speed Channel, Speed TV), rights were purchased by NBC which usually aired the races on CNBC.

Edit: I'm wrong...ESPN back in '84-'97 had F1 covererage...old age mistake.

The benefit of TIVO back then was that it taped the event and didn't care about the carrier but I do remember a lot of misfires resulting in races I never saw. Yes I do remember it was roulette on where the race would be aired. Glad F1 is more popular now.

This is absolutely ridiculous, 40 degree temps with possible rain? This race should have been held no later than early October, I hope they can all stay safe out there.
