Just to toss in...Sharks lost in the first game due to Jones's rust--they should have fired up and handily beat the Kings in regulation. To take it to OT and give the Kings a point is a win for the Kings in my book. It's a long season. (Probably

Season is 2 games in and JVR out 5-6 weeks. Cant wait for Hak to put in Dale friggin Weise in for him.

I didn't watch. Probably the first time I was happy to be blacked out of a game on NHL.tv.

I'll never understand why this Flyers team doesnt show up to games like that. Especially a home opener.
Brutal beatdown. Can't believe they left Eliott in to rot for those 8 goals against.

Kind of wonder if Provy is still hurt from last year's shoulder injury in that playoff series with the Pens. He's looked pretty bad with the puck on his stick so far this year.

Well I'm here--Sharks got a whooping on shitty play the night before and the next day got busy. Figured commenting was a wash. And tonight lose in OT. Early in the season but elite teams don't play like Jekyll and Hyde.

There were so many reviews of the Montreal pucks in teh goal last night, I couldn't figure out if it was all just one long review in the last 7-10 minutes or what.

They were blasting the backup with shots but he was solid as F. Otherwise a good game by the Kings but their power play still is too weak.

Any thoughts on the Matheson body slam on Pettersson? Looks like the NHL is going to look at it. Didn't see what triggered Matheson for this...guessing he didn't like getting dangled in the corner?

I didn't really see any issue with the body slam. Clean, safe hit.

No penalty called on the play, right? So, the FLA player should be fine. We'll see...

The initial hit was fine but the way he finishes the check was just dirty as shit. Just drove the kid into the ice WWE style.

2 games wasnt enough in my opinion.

That's the rumor. His family still lives in the Detroit area. It's unclear if he left for personal reasons or to pursue the Detroit job next offseason.
