continued working on the basement! ripped out the existing vanity and toilet for the guest bathroom. had to repair the wall and used my hopper to respray the texture

also resprayed the hallway going upstairs from the basement due to a few holes and imperfections in the wall

and finally started working on getting the door trim and baseboards installed

Garage is slowly coming together... Put in new EVA foam floor today. Peg board for the tool bench should be coming in the next few days.

Nice work - total noob question - what do you mean by hopper to respray the texture? Im patching some holes at the moment and after sanding its definitely going to need some "texturizing"

That's awesome, mine is literally filled with random stuff as you can't reach the back of it unless you're 8 feet tall. Mind sharing where you got it from?

Since you are also in Florida, let me ask... how do you keep the bugs and spiders at bay in that garage? I clean mine to keep them under control but you’ve got a TV out there and it looks clean enough to be an indoor room.

I just made it myself from birch 1/2" plywood for the sides and 1/4" plywood for the dividers. All you really need is a saw, I just took 2 passes on the table saw for each divider slot as it was quick and easy. My standard kerf blade (0.125") was perfect at 2 passes to allow just a tad extra space for easy sliding in and out.

Man... that little cb350 needs some attention. Get to workin' on it, no fun in pieces lol.

I can say from experience with the x7 CB500/550/750's scattered around my garage.

Frequent cleaning and pesticides. Full perimeter around windows and garage door opening get treated every two or three months by me. Spiders typically need about a double concentrate. I use encapsulated chemicals that “pop” when they touch it. Not to say they don’t make it into the garage, but they die if they do.

Biggest nuisance for me honestly is lizards. I like them because they’ll eat the bugs that make it in there. But the damn things crap all in the garage.

I know I know... what started as a points adjustment turned into a full strip down. I’ve moved the pile of parts to three different houses but refuse to give up. One of my planned next purchases is a stand to get back to work on this thing. Undecided how I’ll go with it. Go between a cafe style that I’ll cut up and something a little more dirt road focused I can throw on the back of the Land Cruiser for camp exploring. The bicycle does a fine job, but gotta have options!

I just have too many hobbies

Yeah lizards and toads crap everywhere.

We have a mosquito misting system around the front and sides of our house and all around the back patio to keep the mosquitos and some other pests away. This helps somewhat with the lizards and toads, but there are still some around. But I struggle with spiders in the garage no matter what I've tried. They seem to love the garage door openers and light fixtures that are right about our cars. We used to have the same problem with screen around patio until Hurricane Wilma solved it by taking the screen away.

I use granulated bifenthrin throughout the yard ( https://store.doyourownpestcontrol.c...ules-granulars ). Good for yard destroyers and general pests alike.

Perimeter of house, eaves, and all openings get a concentrated liquid with my sprayer. Encapsulated Lambda-Cyhalothrin has been working great for me for years. I like this newer release ( https://store.doyourownpestcontrol.com/cyzmic-cs ). Stuff dries clear, so you could spray it in the corners in your garage, too. No real odor.

Mix that in with your mister and you'd be set sans termites.

Haha not a bad way to spiral it out! They are super easy bikes to put together, almost as fast as they come apart.

I would build a scrambler out of it - those 350's are the perfect size with enough torque. Still good street manners if you put some dual sport tires on it or something that isn't uber aggressive.

Precisely my thought process. This is a 350F, but the concept is the same.

Reason mine ended up getting torn down is I can't get the right cylinder to fire 90% of the time. Compression, spark, fuel, air...all is good. Time for a rebuild!

And to not steer off course, this project will be done at my house!

Love the horizontal planks (and the pup!). The fence is actually on the block for us next. I figure about 350' linear feet. What's $/ft in your area for installed fence?

We are at about 275 linear feet and it was a tick over $7.5K - just plain ol' pressure treated pine, not cedar or anything. 8 boards high is somewhere between 4.5-5' tall. One standard sized "personnel" gate near the house and a double gate, 5' panels, at the side by the street so the landscapers can get the mower in.

Thanks!

Renovations - Pot Lights and more

I know as a lot of us are stuck home and doing some renovations so I thought I would share a cool find on some retrofit potlights I found. I put in 12 of these in the basement last week so figured I would share. Have to keep busy

https://www.productpro.co/led-lighti...9w-345kwh.html

Next on my list of projects is a reading nook my wife requested.. The fun never stops.. LOL

Anyone else have projects they are working on?

Depending on what TLC your lawn needs, I wouldn't expect instant results. There are ways to game a lawn to look better than it really is so do your homework before going w/ a lawn care service.

Post up in the Yard Freaks thread and we'll help ya out.
