There's a woman who rides out of our LBS who puts me to shame on a regular basis. Today she rode one more mile in a single ride than I rode all week (108 vs 107). She's mid-60's. Retired naval officer. I rode a few miles with her last week and we were tooling along at 18-20MPH. She was chatting away. I was trying to respond between gulps of air. Serious respect for this woman.

just did a trade in through The Pros Closet using my LBS. I couldn't believe the price TPC offered for the bike. It basically went up in value...2 years later. This is the second bicycle that I've traded in using TPC. They are LEGIT and have great customer service. New bike coming very very soon Last edited by slalomfever; 09-11-2020 at 01:26 PM.. |

I bought a Trek Marlin 6 back in the late spring/early summer. My LBS told me that if I ordered that today, the delivery would be in September 2021. WTF??

I hit my 5000 mile cycling goal for 2020 tonight. One day to spare. Going for 7500 next year, which should be doable as I'll be retiring at the end of April and will have plenty of time for longer rides. Wifey and I also logged a bit over 600 miles of walking this year.

But I think it will cool and then there will be a ton of great, second-hand deals on craigslist and the like. Bikes, racks, trainers..... too many people buying now that will forget about them as things open back up. Sorta like the watch and Porsche market.. |

Did the first ride of the season on Sunday - 7 miles. My wife and I generally do a 20ish mile ride once per week, and a number of 4-7 mile rides during the week. I'm glad riding season is here. I'm working on getting my right shoulder bursitis to subside, so I will need to be careful of posture over the handlebars.
Does anyone have a suggestion for good form/posture on handlebars for an MTB? |

Going to be 70 degree's here in NE region tomorrow, so I was trying to decide what, went with my older S-works al bike. All ready and I know my kester will be sore as I have not rode but few miles on the trainer this winter.

Had a half dozen or so rides outside so far this spring. Did 20 miles this afternoon. Feeling stronger already. I've done at least 100 miles every week so far this year. With outside riding now an option, I'm hoping to bump that to 150/week.

12 miles today with my wife. It was a great day. Probably won't push mileage above 12 per ride. My shoulder bursitis seems to be slowly improving, and I don't want to create a flare up. So my routine this season will probably be one each 12 mile and 7 mile ride per week.

We had strong winds out of the south today, so I brought my bike up to the local bike path which was a former east-west running dirt trail under some power lines that got paved last year. Most of the trail in my area is protected from the south, so it makes wind avoidance easier. Knocked out 20 miles.

N+1 is still the rule at my house. Haven't reached D-1 yet.
Bike #5 in the stable. Trek FX 3 for easy cruising around the 'hood.

Nice Trek.
My wife and I are on a 20-ish mile weekly routine now that mostly acceptable weather is here. Saturdays is a 12 miler and we do one or two 7 milers during the week. I'm nursing a slowly recovering shoulder bursitis and don't want a flareup from a longer ride. It feels good to be back on the bike. |

The weather is getting to be reliably nice (warm) here in the midwest. Getting two 7 mile rides in during the week, and a 12 miler on the weekends. My shoulder bursitis has improved considerably, and I think I will be able to do a 20 miler per week starting in July.
So mid-20s miles per week now, hoping to get into the mid-30s later this summer. Last edited by chassis; 05-15-2021 at 07:03 AM.. |

The weather is almost there. I'm over in IL and it's been a nice few days. But next week looks like mostly rain. Boo, hiss....
The big ride killer for me has been the damn wind. I see winds in the 20-25MPH range and I opt for the trainer in the pain cave.

After the ride I put on thin boxing gloves and work out on the punch bag that hangs in there to balance out my exercise. |

I’m in the 20-25 mile per week routine. Still holding off on a 20 mile ride because of shoulder bursitis late winter. Shoulder feels great now and want to keep it that way, hope to get back in the pool this winter.
12 miler tomorrow morning if the heat doesn’t melt me. |
