Been watching Banshee on Prime. I cancelled my Cimenax subscription last month so I won't get Seasons 3 & 4. :| You can tell this is a Skinemax show.

Started watching Episode 1 a couple days ago but cut it off. I couldn't get into it.

That’s how I felt at first, unsure if I wanted to keep watching after the first 15 minutes, but by the end of Episode 1 am “all in” with the series.

To be fair, as the viewer, you’re thrown in head-first to understand what is currently happening (explosion of the reactor core) vs. the conspiracy to cover-up and pretend it was a simple roof fire. And part of that experience is to place the event within the Soviet mindset. Also, while the dialogue can be subtle at times, it is the little remarks (or expressions of the characters) that you really do need to pay close attention to so that you don’t miss something.

My advice: give Episode 1 another shot to the end; I think it’s worth the time investment. My wife wanted no part of the show (she thought it would be boring); however, she ended up really liking it as well.

Gotta get those seasons somehow. Especially Season 4, which in my opinion was the best of the series.

Thanks for sharing. The only reason I'm giving it another go is because you enjoyed Banshee and that's good enough for me.

Been watching GOT for years and also currently watching Peaky Blinders which is pretty good so far but I just started.

Recently I watched the Ozark and Narcos series on Netflix. Narcos was awesome even though a lot of it is in subtitles and Ozark was decent too.

I love this show! Though I think the megaton explosion threat was a bit over the top.

Definitely agree. I’m sure the writers take certain liberties here and there; however, I’m learning more about this disaster than I expected watching the show. I was in my early teens when it happened, and (as a kid) didn’t pay much attention to the news coverage. Now I’m finding the event pretty very interesting especially from Soviet perspective. Heck, I even went to YouTube to check out tour videos capturing what Pripyat looks like today.

We just finished Dead to Me and although I've always liked Christina Applegate I was surprised by her range. Really entertaining series with a lot of messed up twists. Kelly Bundy has come a long way
