Dating - Good/Bad Experiences

I used to avoid dating. Something about getting to know someone and having to answer all their questions about myself just drives me away. Being in the military also tends to drive gals away because of the time spent away from home, and I've witnessed too many of my battles get completely wrecked by ladies who take them for everything while they are deployed or at trainings, so I've never really had the desire to even try. Well I finally let my guard down and ended up hanging out again with an old fling from 10 years ago and we hit it off pretty well and are now coming up on 2 years together. In those two years I've been away from home more than I have been home due to military service and she is still around and seems to handle me being gone alright. I'm overseas right now and I keep waiting for a mental breakdown or to hear that she can't do it, but everyday she powers through and kicks ass. She's stronger than me I think.

Instead, maybe tell her she got you pregnant and see if she stays or pressure you to "get rid of it." That will also give you your "answer."

Or maybe "I was high on heroin, got into a car accident, and killed a whole family. Can you bail me out of jail?" If she bails on you then, that will also give you your "answer."

This is a terrible suggestion and not how adults should behave. The promise of meager pension of a service member isn't the thing keeping 2one8's SO around and assuming that's the case is pretty shitty.

Damn. ragingpanda , I don't discount that most long-distance relationships fail. Doesn't necessarily mean that there is infidelity on either side. Also, doesn't mean that he needs seeds planted in his head for a visual, whilst in another country. No cool man.

I mean, he could be and she could be, but if neither are; there is no point in making it an issue when it shouldn't be. Not everyone is selfish and inconsiderate. I can appreciate you dropping knowledge and your opinion, I'm guilty of it as well, but the delivery leaves much to be desired.

Ha don't worry, I have thick skin and can dish out worse. Some people have had bad experiences and are bitter. No skin off my back

If shit hits the fan I'm honestly not out anything. She doesn't have any claim to anything of mine. It's my house, my stuff in the house, my vehicle. If she takes off with my dog though there will be hell to pay.

Yes (Poughkeepsie, BTW), and the long-departed DJ still has two of my CD's that he borrowed! Not a huge loss for most people, but that represents 66% of my entire music collection.....
