John Dudley is many branches down on my family tree on my mother's side. Pretty cool tracking those generational lines.

It's on my bucket list. I've been hiking and backpacking my whole life but I've never made it to Mt. Lassen. I've done a lot of the Sierra but never Shasta or Lassen. I'll have to fix that!

I'm glad the weather was good for your trip. That makes a huge difference.

^that's crazy:
Since 1946, the Bregenz Festival ‘Opera on the Lake’ in Austria has been home to some of the most incredible outdoor stages ever built. Lake Constance is often used during the festival as an extension of the stage, which this year was transformed into a 24 metre-high figure of Jean-Paul Marat, inspired by the depiction of his death in the 1793 painting by Jacques-Louis David. The stage design also includes an open book which served as the doorway from which members of the cast emerged, and a large gold mirror.

I love the Sierra (hiked the JMT, the High Sierra Loop, other Yosemite high points & explored the Emigrant Basin and Tahoe) but spent more days over the years at Lassen. Not in the same league as the "Range of Light", but fascinating nonetheless. The Dixie Fire torched nearly 70% of the park last year, so some personal heartache but we covered much of our favorite trails last week. PM me if you ever want specific tips on your future (bucket list) Lassen visit. G

Thank you. i will do that.

It will take a few years, but you will not believe how well the burned area will rejuvenate. I watched Yellowstone remake itself. It's remarkable. Of course, the loss of life and property is bad but the forest has got this.

Here's one from a trip we took awhile back. I have no idea if this will be easy or hard.

LJ, if you know it immediately, please don't ruin it for others!

You do know you can reverse search an image?

You are missing my point entirely. I will spell it out for clarity:

I asked LJ, a known quick responder on this thread, using the same resources that we all have (as you point out), not to "ruin" it for others. The photo is of a ruin. One, two, three, groan.
