My A5 is due next month but I can tell you before hand that my 328i handles much better and feels much tighter. It's hard to explain but you'll know what I mean if you test drive the A5/S5 and compare it to a 328i/335i. If I was purchasing based on looks, I would go for the S5.
I assume that's what you did?

I'm sure if I go and post in the "other car" forum at Audizine, I'm sure I'll see unbiased commentary! lol.
Do you belong to any other forum? I follow Porsche, BMW and Subaru. Both Subaru and Porsche don't even come close to the crap on here. Literally it is as bad as it gets. While completely annoying, it is thoroughly entertaining!

Audizine, yes.

I'm a member of a few others, and a moderator at one of them. I just wouldn't have expected anything less than a bias.

I'd get the S5 over any 3 series except for the M3.

I hate to say it but yes, I did get the A5 because of the way it looks but some people might disagree with me about the handling when I compared to the 328i/335i. I think because I've owned a 335i and now a 328i I can feel the difference when I drive the A5 or maybe I'm been too picky.

I bought an S5 2 years ago and seriously I am looking into the 335is. I would go for an M3 but I dont think I can justify the price over the 335is. Some of you have said that although the Audi interior is better looking the quality of the BMW is better and it is completely true. This is coming from a S5 owner.

BMW interior quality is superior to the quality of the A5/S5 interior. The interior in my A5 has too much of a plastic feel plus the trim looks very cheap.

I chose the S5 based on looks and sound mostly. It is sexy in black, and the exhaust is very throaty stock. Also, it can be supercharged and easily get over 480 HP. Throw some coils on there and the active diff and that right there is a capable car. 335is would be more realistic though because everything I said was pricey.

That's pretty much the way it goes. S5 is a slight step above the 335i but there is no way I would pay 60k when for a few grand more you can get a M3.

335is > S5.

S5 is weak looking and ugly from the rear and sides.

End of discussion.

One thing I will say about the A5/S5 is that the attention to detail is far more superior to the 3 series.

I never have understood this "BMW interior quality" argument. Every old BMW I have ever sat in smelled like burned crayons.

The S5 has a superior interior, no question. It also looks far better than any 3 series except the M3. True, the 335i drives better than the Audi, but I'd rather own the S5....
