The State flags were flown for each of the States represented in our group the nights we watched the boarder, There was Texas, Idaho, California, and Oregon.

We had a Colt python .357mag and a semi auto shotgun with buckshot, I don't know what the others had we had reporter embedded with us from DC so we didn't brandish weapons but could defend our position if we were forced to.

oh it wasn't for the contest... it was for the multiple posts of the same photo needed get the shot he wanted into the contest.

Its a sunset, but you still posted the picture 3 times. Please pick one of them and edit the other 2 posts to remove the pictures you dont want in the contest.

Yeah, but I bet they are all "stock" photos, not fresh shots taken just because of the contest (mine included....)

I've been wondering why there isn't a rule saying the pic must be taken within the contest period. The point of these contests should be to get people out shooting, not picking through their flickr gallery. I know that other forums run similar contests and have this same rule.

I haven't had much time to use my D80 lately, but I still like coming in here to see what you guys have been up to.

Disagree - poll needed. I for one don't need the "pressure" of having to go out within a certain timescale and take a certain photo just to enter it on here. The entries will drop. There are easy ways of changing the exif info aswell so this makes it all a bit pointless!

it's been long debated since we started doing these. do we want more participants or more people out shooting on a regular basis?

its a toss up but I think the ones who want to push themselves will (even if its not EVERY contest) and the ones who want to enter vacation photos will not (and probably won't ever grow as photographers).

I shoot for myself and am constantly trying new techniques etc - no need for a BMW forum to drive me on that front.
