It's so obvious now that Sainz's turbo is turned down just a bit for reliability which is why his has lasted without failure.

Nope I'm absolutely serious, I said max was outclassed when George defended against him, hence why even with a significantly faster car max couldn't pass. So when you say max was even faster with softs despite a drs failure, it exemplifies how incredible George's defense was. Because the redbull had significantly more pace per lap and yet George was able to fend him off.

Sure George had zero chance due to the car discrepancy, but the defense he displayed showed that he was absolutely out classing max in that moment.

Trap speeds in Barcelona qualifying and previous qualifying rounds don't reflect this.

I said more than once that Charlies PU-HP output was pulled over the top .

My prediction is that Ferraris won't that fast anymore by reliability precautions .

Ferrari won't take the risk anymore .Now that the number 1 is leading the WDC ..

Ferrari was like : Make it or break it ..
And it broke !

I was always thinking it was too good to be true with Ferrari's resurgence since the previous years, it's like the 'rocket' engined Merc of HAM in Brazil then replace soon and take the 3 place penalty.

Right . Just like HAM said that he was hit by Kmag => https://www.facebook.com/groups/Mana...8309639564357/

To me this looks like HAM's dirty trick at Silverstone Copse turn !

That wasn't the subject of discussion, the discussion was George in a slower car outclassing max with a stellar defense, what makes it even more spectacular is that cars are even easier to follow this year combined so there's no excuse with dirty air.

I'm not a steward I don't make the calls.

Probably you mean that weaving was the Russell defence ...

Strange, when max weaves even more agressively than this I don't hear a single complaint from you. Zero complaints from redbull too, unlike when max weaves and every opponent calls him a dangerous driver.

George's manoeuvre was barely a weave, for the most part he smartly positioned his car to prevent max from being able to pass. Even 3rd party journalists thought George was spectacular.

Yeah it was some refreshing defence from the Russell boy !

BTW : The Russell boy was aware that MAX's DRS wasn't working ..
That's why RUS pushed MAX 2-times off-track !

Obviously he would've been made aware that Max's drs wasn't working. But that wouldn't be why he pushed max off track he clearly didn't do it intentionally.

He did intend to squeeze him off the track. Russell did it slow enough to allow Max to adjust, aggressive but not crazy. Max thought it was ok post-race.

Interestingly, Max gave Russell plenty of room on his initially pass attempt (maybe too much ******* but Max can’t risk a DNF.

The lack of on and off track drama is great this year. Some whinging between RBR and Ferrari but at an acceptable level. Fans of car development and good racing are enjoying this season.

LEC is a class act and with Max no longer the focus of smear campaigns we are seeing good racing (excluding spinning Sainz)

My take: likely Red Bull told PER during the Barcelona debriefing to focus on maximizing points for VER + the sooner VER gets to WDC 2022, the sooner VER will switch roles and assist PER in trying to win remaining races. I can see VER capable of giving his word to PER in allowing him a race victory, once the 2022 title would in the bag (which is a hypothetical - don't underestimate LEC and RUS fighting for WDC).

And money talks. Wouldn't be surprised if VER proposed to switch internal bonuses for P1 and P2 for the Barcelona race (no fact - just my guess) + reassured PER to lobby for a contract extension. VER knows that PER could have won at Barcelona and that he took one for the team. VER thanked PER via the onboard radio - so that everyone could clearly hear his appreciation - after the pass and also at the end of the race. He also did that during and after the controversial F1 2021 Abu Dhabi race. VER has a loyal attitude to those who help him, prepared to return a favor.

"Why Red Bull used team orders in Spain – and the two-sided argument over their choice":
