Not so fast there bud. Look at the qualifying head to head in 2018 for raw speed comparison (their final year together)... Red Bull probably have Ricc crap engines or something though. To be fair I think Ricc could have a chance against Ham as well.

Also, I don't see how ~1 win out of every three races for Bottas can't be interpreted as "semi-regular".

You guys are so extreme with your views, and it's almost like you feel you're winning with him or something lol. I'm not saying Hamilton isn't the fastest/best. I'm just saying we can't be sure. I would love to see him wrap up his 8th with ease next year, and then work a deal with Sainz to move over to Ferrari. Then, man, we would all have a hell of a season to watch and nobody could ever question Hamilton, especially if he dominated Leclerc.

HAM already went up against, and beat ALO, BUT (2 of 3), and ROS (2 of 3). He is 5 and 2 against other WDCs in the same vehicle. If there is another driver who has such a record, please inform me...I can't think of one.

And that is 1 of every 5 races or 20 percent. This is occasionally. And the stats aren't telling the true story. HAM blanked BOT one year. The stats are flattering to deceive.

Ah fair enough. Thought your teammate said 9 out of 38. Not sharp on my stat battle obviously.

Bottas is doin a little better this season though ay? He's really been Lewis's least remarkable teammate it seems.

And out of those 9 wins how many were down to some mishap happening to Hamiltons race.
I'm struggling to recall if Bottas ever overtook Hamilton on track to win a race [1].
This is not about bigging up Hamilton its about starting with the facts and then making a valid point.
Not just making up stuff.

Yep we've got that one figured out, but thanks for reiterating...

No point in arguing about Bottas though. Nobody actually thinks he stands a chance against Hamilton whether he wins infrequently, somewhat infrequently, once in a while, sometimes, semi-regularly, etc., blah blah. He's not on the same level.

I posted this sentiment in another thread with a likely misinterpreted “this is the worst part of sports” and am thrilled to see you say it as well. It needs to be said more often. The only thing gained from armchair quarterbacking and picking a player/team and calling it your own is some sense of thrill for making the right choice. It confuses me and quite honestly has kept me out of the senseless world of sports. I have found myself enamored with f1 for the better part of theee years, but I will not succumb to the primitive debates of who’s better.

Statistically it’s Ham btw, America just loves underdogs, as do many others in the world. I’m NOT a fan of Hamilton and don’t think we’d agree on much.

This is easily the most sadly desperate thing I've seen in 45 years of watching Formula One. Get your own car right and quit worrying about the competition. If he worked as hard with his team as he does on bitching about HAM, they'd be 2 seconds ahead of the field. Unreal!!!

My friend, you and the M5theonlyone continue to tell the world how great VER is in absence of evidence to prove it. He didn't beat RIC and has had muppets for teammates. HAM has raced against and defeated 3 WDCs...5 of 7 against ALO, BUT and ROS.

VER is good but he is no Hamilton.
