HAM appears over eager and there were many words from him about the Monza situation so he could trip himself up in his haste but I think Max will be mindful of the start and I'm sure he will be on the podium.

Yeah . Like I said earlier today , all will depend from the tire management .Because the first 4 are close.....Very close !
As we know , MAX is the best in saving his tires . And I'm thinking about the pitstop strategy as well...

Hope for Charles , that the Ferrari pit crew is awake for him ...

If there is some question of readiness when Charles comes into the pit then he needs the language and volume of Kimi, Come on ! Move! in the excellent 10 point vid.

If you're talking about Ferrari's additional downforce, they have an updated front wing with two new winglets mounted on the front nosecone. They also have a revised floor. They tested these two pieces back to back with the old spec in FP1 and decided to put run them on both cars from FP2 onwards.

Ferrari has such a straight line speed advantage that fortunately they can take the hit of the added drag when adding more downforce. Despite adding these new bits for downforce, they were still about three tenths faster than Mercedes and RedBull through sector one (which has a few long straights and high speed corners).

Ricciardo could be in trouble and may start at the back of grid from his 8th position for exceeding the 120kW limit output of the MGU-K when his car was scrutinised.

It's since been made official. He has been disqualified from the qualifying results.

It should be noted that Renault did state their case to the stewards. They argued the benefit from the extra power was negligible and that the extra power came on Ricciardos second times lap in Q2, on which he did not improve his time.

If that really is the truth, then I wish he would have been able to keep his qualifying position. It seems the extra power didn't really have any positive effect on his qualifying results nor did it hinder any other competitors.

Renault can put their case and it's probably true what they say about no extra gain achieved but as we have found stewards don't forgive for tech infringements in the slightest. In must not be beyond the permitted scale.

I recently read an article speculating that Ferrari's power advantage is down to "questionable" engineering. Some teams have supposedly sent an inquiry to the FIA but haven't received a response yet. It was suggested that they may be burning more oil than the permitted amount or possibly deploying more energy than the allowed (regarding the latter, this wouldn't be the first time Ferrari have been accused of it).

That would have been at the time of the twin battery saga? but nothing came of it,the scale was at the permitted level. As far as the oil burning goes before the start lots of smoke was seen exhuming from the cars but again there was no issue and other teams just had the 'Get Ferrari' syndrome.

I don't think the Ferrari smokes on start up anymore though. Their car had a tendency to smoke a bit back before the FIA imposed limits on how much oil can be burned. If there is any merit to the rumors, I'd guess that Ferrari revisited the oil burning tactic for this year after initially confirming to the regulations (which went into effect around the Italian GP back in 2017 IIRC).

I remember reading about that. The thing to remember (and is sometimes omitted in those articles) is that each team works with their own partners to create a specific blend of gas that will maximize power from their engine.

Normally each engine supplier would recommend what gas blend is optimized for their engine to make the most power but teams don't always have the same sponsor agreements to allow them to do that. Back when RedBull was running Renault engines, they were using their own gas blend instead of what Renault recommended due to having different gas/oil sponsors. RedBull would complain about the lack of power and Renault would point the finger to them not using the right blend (among other excuses for not being up to par with the Ferrari and Mercedes engines).
