Link says 483 left. I've already got my free one, AND I went out and bought another for my travel kit. I'm pretty impressed with the shave from the ProGlide. But, like I suspected, cartridges are at least as expensive or more so than the Fusion ones. Oh well, I'm using it until the next best thing comes along...

At first I thought they were cheaper. "Hey look, a pack of cartridges is only $9.99! Nice!" That was followed by a "wait a fucking minute, there are only 3 cartridges in the pack now instead of 4! Fucking fuckers!"

Just like Dreyer's/Edy's ice cream. Years ago it was 64oz in the classic round tub. Then it dropped to 56oz, and now it is all the way down to 48oz. All for the same exact price it was years ago. So while the "price" hasn't changed, you are getting a lot less for the money.

Yeah it's all about the cartridges. Sure you get an updated/modern/arguably fancier handle but the cartridges are interchangeable with my Fusion.

So if you fellas miss out on this promotion and can live with your current orange Fusion handle, just buy the newer pro-glide cartridges.

I also suspect a primary reason for the glide is the generous green "aloe" (?) cushion pad. It is at least 3x the fusion pad. I suspect that once it fades...that smooth glide will be over and I'll be back to red irritated skin.

That's how the getcha I think. If Gillette would use a permanent INSOLUBLE raised pad, they would go bankrupt 'cause nobody would purchase any new cartridges.

BTW, Costco has them on sale for you members.

They have a kit. The handle, 6 blades and a battery for $23.99 but now during the current coupon book has a $6 coupon(at least in my region they do. Are their coupon's even set by region?). Anyways at $17.99 with 6 blades that's a pretty good price.

I use the Schick Hydro... I am going to assume it is nearly the same thing as the new pro-glide. However, the top part of the cartridge can be pushed back to allow for shaving under nose and side burns. It is really a fantastic razor.

Bought the new Schick Hydro 5 and the Proglide. I get really bad irritation, and so far both are very big improvements over my previous razors. I can't really tell a huge difference between the Hydro and Proglide. The Hydro's gel layer does feel like it "hydrates" your face more than the Proglide. I also like how the top of the Hydro flips back for a close trim. I'm going to keep testing them, but I'll probably end up with the Hydro due to the cheaper razors. Wal-Mart had a 4 pack of Hydro 5's for $10 and a 4 pack of Proglides for $17. That's a pretty big difference.
