When Adrian was at the forefront of designing/making those design strategies, we saw some good (thought some say boring, but very German evolutionary ones) - the F1x 5er, the outgoing G3x 5er, the outgoing X3, the last gen 7 series and likely the current 3 series before lci. Those are still decent design, with the exception of the 4er which has always been polarizing to this day. Some will go to the extent of saying that he -saved- the brand image coming from the Bangle era of controversial designs. There was uniqueness and something BmW like in those designs. We have to remember a car design takes 4-5 years probably longer, which is at the same scale at the life cycle of a generation, so it begins several years ago. He probably has a political battle with Domagoj being in charge of design decisions in the trenches but himself (Adrian) being overall responsible for all cars from a management/approval stand point. He is likely way more hands off in these designs we are seeing lately, while being too busy as an executive leader. Yes they are all to blame for where we are, some more some less.

It's too late (for the M division). By the time these new designs start rolling out everything will be electrified and automatic.
Really hope this means Jose Casas is gone. |

I will just say that BMW'S design team is not up to it's engineering team level.
Hoping for both to elevate even further, and for the design to find and finally maintain a distinctive BMW style than can be evolutive rather than reconceived with each generation. |

Such great news! I would come back to bmw in a heartbeat if their designs weren’t actually insane looking. I predict the G8x’s will go down like the bangle 5 series in the preowned market.

Not sure why everyone hates on Polestar here. Compared to other big EV makes, it doesn’t look all that bad to me.

It is time to make separate models for Asia. Rest of the world does not enjoy Asian design language that much nor is enthusiastic about neon light with all existing colours at the same time.

Wait I thought that sales were amazing and every car was a giant hit? That’s what some on the forums would have you believe. However, a look at the stock price and recent earnings will tell you differently.

It's not just about cars either. Look at the world around you: modern architecture, fashion styles, contemporary art (if you can call it that). Everything looks artificial, inelegant and cheap. The ugliness aesthetic has permeated everywhere. |

Thank fuck finally. Some serious gaslighting BMW were inhaling if they thought current cars looked good. They all look like ass except the new X1 and it makes me wonder if it was designed by another person. Interiors need the buttons put back quickly too.

Real question is when will we see new design language?
Urgency for what will happen to the aging 8 series is past due? Perhaps skytop will be the new design language - i am guessing this new crew worked on that design as its flagship proof of concept - if true this will be cool to see come into the open with new design language unfolding - perhaps healing the front grill once again with graceful lines. |

Looks like a G60 with the nose cut off. Fat and tall.

I’m not saying it applies to every person or company or industry at the same time. I just think we’re in an overall radical time in the world.

The biggest question I have... what took you so long BMW? One look at some of the monstrosity you penned and I would've ripped it up right then.
