Checo got a 1:30.305 fastest lap of all in testing. Leclerc did a 1:30.558 to get pole position at the venue last year as a matter of interest .

I just finished the 10 Drive2Survive Episodes ,
Pros. : Fantastic images in great quality , it's like a new race with views from different angles .
Downside is as usual : They are jumping back and forwards in the season and races , and this can be very confusing .

Episode 9 :
All about MAX , the Red Bull budget cap saga and Dietrich Mateschitz death.
Looking back at the Japan GP , this race was so damn bloody dangerous in the pouring rain , the spray and zero visibility .
MAX drove there in the Japanese rain the rest just out of sight , MAX's drivers performance in the rain was unseen.
Phe-no-me-nal !!!
Winning the Japanese GP was a gesture of thanks for Dietrich Mateschitz.
And of course , this was HONDA's home race..

Episode 10 :
At the end the interviews,
MAX ? Is always winning not too boring ?
MAX : NO ! Losing is boring !

Why do you think Mercedes is sandbagging? This isn’t like prior years - you can see it in the W14 during the test sessions. No one is going to show their hand in testing so even if there is a bit more performance, it’s not going to be that much more, at least for these first few races. Maybe something more with their first major development package.

But if Mercedes is back to their sandbagging ways, it will further prove why they are so good - everyone who doubted the no-sidepod design as why it was a mistake would look silly.

If it turns out to be a good design but takes two to three years to be competitive with the new regs coming in 2026 I don’t think that’s a good decision.
